I've never seen anyone targeted simply for being bad at the game or being new or whatever. The people who are "bullied" on this site generally bring it upon themselves by acting like jerks. You guys are acting like the majority, or even a significant portion, of the users on this site are toxic asshole sociopaths. Sure, there are people like that here just like "in real life," but only a very small percentage.

Saying "oh but some people struggle with depression or anxiety" is fucking stupid. I'm depressed. I'm anxious. I want to die. We all do. It's 2017. Look at the world around us. Yet somehow, I've still never been bullied via this site. How could that be, when I 1) suck at the game, 2) am a sensitive bleeding-heart liberal, and 3) am just a pussy in general? It's because I don't act like an asshole.

I'm not trying to like, defend the assholes in this community. Quite frankly I dislike almost everyone, but this thread is ridiculous. I feel a little dirty for kinda siding with the assholes, but come on.

If someone doesn't share personal information and people go out of their way to find it and share and bully someone, yeah that is shitty. If you share something personal and don't want people to know, that is your own fault.

 

That's a fair response. However, this wasn't started for nothing. There are many people who disagree with what you said but I respect how you gave an opinion.

Wasn't directed towards you. You are obviously ok with what you overcame. Glad to hear you are doing better. It was directed at the assholes who try and find shit on people to use against them (which hardly ever happens). But again, I agree with Beard 100%. Most of the "bullying" is because that person acted like an asshole first and then can't take the heat when people come back at them.

 

I get what you're saying but the question is, when is enough enough?

Some people do and say some stupid things but the level of disrespect shown by other members of the community is getting out of hand.

For example, Devin fudged some stats and got a big ole ban. He's going to be the subject of some jokes because of it and that's fine. Does he deserve a 90 page inbox conversation including half the community titled "Devin or Snorlax????" Where people attack his appearance?

That's the type of people we're dealing with and it's been going on for a long time.

Ive seen multiple occasions people ask a question and people attack them. These dudes type on here like theyre imporrant or something. Like theyre supposed to be respected when not one of them respects themselves or are extremely uneducated to the point of not understanding anything.

I know what u mean. These dudes need attention so they go on this site and verbally attack people. Why dont they go around and tell ppl with mental illness to kill themselves? So I made a post about it. If we had a community wide vote if all of the select few who negativity contributed to this conversation were to disappear, would this be a better place yes or no. I'm betting on a lop sided yes. I don't even know these guys but it's funny how I'm somehow not surprised who showed up.

 

Fudging some stats wasn't his only sin. You make a good point, and I would say that "personal attacks" are in general not cool. "Deserve" is a really tough word. Does a child molester "deserve" the eye-for-an-eye treatment? Probably. Does that make it right for random citizens to dole out vigilante justice? Of course not. Actions have consequences. As a society however, we should strive to be better.
