DAL, all three are new to the NHL MGT role and had very limited success. All three could probably benefit from a season or two at the AHL level.

Literally said that in that post...

But these things are part of my jon and role as the commissioner.

If I use you as an example, you've had very limited success as a manager at the NHL and AHL level dating back to your VHL days. Hence why I said you'd benefit for a few seasons in the ahl

You've always been a mature and respectful guy which is another reason lower tier leagues would be more appealing for you due to less egotistical players at those tiers.

I think you would be an ideal CHL Owner based on your personality, dedication, patients and experience

@LG McDonald, he brings up a fair concern. It'd be nice to see a bit of "tilling of the soil" where the bottom 3 NHL owners are replaced by the top 3 AHL GM's. I know you can't really force someone to take ownership, they have to want it, but maybe there is some means to fairly encourage it.

A rigorous system of pushing out the chaff and giving the best of the current crop a chance to succeed seems like it'd encourage the long-term health of LGHL by ensuring new blood gets introduced on a regular basis. That's what you've kind of already been doing. I'm suggesting making a formal process out of it where the top three AHL managers are specifically invited to take ownership next season and given a deadline for deciding.

While I agree with the whole NHL higher tier players not being aloud a free contract , and ecu games at nhl purely to avoid bidding, I am curious as to if there is some sort of a proper outline there will be to who we can or can't choose , or if we have to go through you for any sort of person we are thinking about from NHL .

I can speak for myself and a few other managers, there is a GM who does next to all of the work , and that free AGM contract is someone who has thumbs at this game and doesn't do much of anything else other than putting up points and winning games.

We have already lost the pre-bidding assigned AGM , where NHL has that as well to get someone with skill potentially cheaper then they would go in bidding , all I am saying is just curious because most of this list with exception of WPG you say just their owners, but WPG is an entire roster .

Never been a fan of this approach. I understand why people do it and that it is rampantly abused, but the free AGM slot shouldn't be used to get a star player for free who isn't expected to do any work. That undermines and distorts the entire league economy.

I think we'd see fewer teams explode if the practice were discouraged, and instead GMs were encouraged to select AGMs who are equally capable and willing to step up as a full-time GM if needed.

I think your question is going "who can and can not be an AHL manager next season?"

To best answer that question will be that the selections will have to be approved by Tiddus and I. So as owners start making tgeir selections, they will have to be ok'd by us.

Then if the GM wants to add an AGM, that AGM will also have to be approved by us.

The AAGM position since it is a title promoted AFTER bidding can be any one whom isn't no management listed.

While I agree, there is ZERO way to enforce it....

When we discuss "work load" that is basically non-existent in todays management system. So if we have an AGM and all he does is gather his line on nights he plays(which is a major role) then what more do we want?

In the old days we had requirements for managers to handle somethings which only lead to GMs logging into AGM's accounts to post lines.

This kind of goes hand in hand with management bans. Some people have asked for less strict manager bans, and this is one reason why i am not for lesser bans. if you are a free AGM and your GM quits, the expectation is for you to run the team. If you cannot do that, they will be fired as well. So if you were a free contract all season, and come week 7 your GM gets sick and leaves the League, you better have an idea of how to manage a team and handle the day to day operations or don't expect to come back to that free role again.

Okay, and then if the GM gets approved, does the GM message you and Tiddus as well then who they are planning on taking as AGM ?

The other thing to consider is I am openly saying this process is subjective. I get that. But when it comes to management positions and approvals I feel I can make the best decisions on who can and can't hold those titles. I am looking at it from an entire league standby. I see a ton of value in keeping a guy like Wags as an AHL GM, or bring back a guys like Tranny. Both whom are in the top percentage of players in the AHL and could play in the NHL but aren't quite the "elite" NHL talent we DO NOT want in a role.

I am also pretty aware that game to game and season to season talent changes. S17/S18 like AT43 was a top tier Owner whom won a Jack Adams. Three or four seasons later his Texas team didn't make the AHL playoffs. Those are factors to consider and that will be considered

I also kind of look at it like "who is the BEST combination of GM/AGM i will allow in the AHL. @PahkTheCah1387 and @Ambient I37I tend to be my measuring stick for that.

Only reason why I do this approach, is if you have to much " manager approach " you can potentially have two extremely different views on how a team should be ran , and if that other said manager who in your opinion is better as a management role but maybe not the greatest at the game, you are then stuck with an untradeable player who is essentially bringing down a team for lack of a better term .

It might work for some people, but for me I prefer to do it this way . But to each their own!
