Does someone's value in bidding a direct reflection of the quality of player that they are?

We all know that defensive positions are a commodity in this league.

There's also a fine line between good and bad keepers.

Out of all midfielders, I would have to say the top 25% are wanted by at least 4 different teams.

I'm afraid to touch on strikers because more often than not, you're dependent on the team you're on. Big egos would beg to differ.

So, with that all being taken into account and the possibility that a player can be versatile in more than 1 area of the pitch...

 

Values can be overinflated or underinflated based on things like:
Owner knowlege
How well known a player is
What teams need to fill
Etc

 

Even peoples opinion of other peoples skill. Right or wrong. I know a lot of people on both ends. Ones who slip through the cracks even though they are great players and ones who are well known but not really as good as everyone thinks.

 

Do you think we'll ever be able to classify players based on net worth?

 

What I'm really trying to get at is if we're ever able to determine someone's net worth. And with that, could we start to classify players (elite, semipro, average etc.)

 

No because I can't even get a damn game on my team and I'm sure I'm one of the best on it. Idk how you expect to grow a site when it's been nothing but the same every yr. It's basically a bunch of ppl in the know who bid on each other and take up all the roster spots especially the good ones. Which leaves players like me feeling this site is a waste.

It's a bidding league. Values are always going to be inflated. If I know a team wants a player, I'm going to keep raising the price of that player. Not because I want that player or because I think they are good, but because I want the other team to pay more than they have to. Good owners are going to play the best 11 they can.

If people want to get noticed and get playing time, they have to contact their owners via PM. I can't reiterate that enough. You can't expect of be utilized on a TC then automatically get playing time.

 

Pending on position I know what you are saying, if you come into any league trying to play one of the top positions that managment play you prob won't start over them. I came into the league wanting to play up top but I also put down I would play anywhere to one give the owner flexibility with me and two get me on the field and guess what I have started every game I have played at CB or GK( a bad one at that) what I'm saying is maybe try to play a diff position that teams need then let them see you can play and you will get into games.

I have already told ppl I would play anywhere. It's just the past few seasons I've played on teams who's top 3 are trash yet they continue to play them because they are buddies. I'm more influential for a team if I play up front or even in mid. But they always like to stick you in the back which is fine unless of course the players up top suck and can't handle the ball under pressure which has been every team I've played on so far. But I'll join the pickups because im sure someone will give me a chance after actually seeing me play.

 

If not, take management somewhere. It's more responsibility, but you get to run your team, your lineups, and your style of play how you seen fit.

 

Tried to be owner once and brisan thought I wasn't a good fit, I guess maybe because I said I would bring a bunch of my club over? Idk. But yet I've played on 1 team where the owner straight up left and never played so.

That's what happened with me. So I took an AGM spot, with Laing for God's sake, and owned with a lot of my guys to a top four. It's a process. Team up with rawness and use that to prove yourself.
