That was a fun game...for the most part. We should have won (or at least taken it to OT or something) but EA was working against us. Such is the game. In the two games @MadeOfTwoFaces has played against us this season, the total scoreline is still 13-5 Manitoba, so I'm not losing any sleep. It's still a tight race in that wildcard spot between Milwaukee and Iowa, and that's what's entertaining to me.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa, I'm like 75% sure as far as I can remember both your goals had me sitting there wondering if I was still playing 15 the way the puck just went through 3 people on the force. I'm also 99.999% sure your first game with us was with Grayzer in net, I question every single team that HASNT put up 8 or more goals vs gray. 2nd worst decision I made all season was not waiving him 5 weeks earlier for Mercy.

Personally, I'm gonna try and make that 7th seed. I'd like an easy first round where I don't have to try that much rather than have to show up and play vs Stockton right off the bat. I prefer games where I laugh and try random shit to score as opposed to games where i actually try and play. I mean this whole week I think I've snubbed @Stith00 and @DudleyDoWright5 for like 8 goals because I want the goals for myself. Assists don't get me goals. If Grand Rapids could just no show that would be great.

Lol I'm pretty sure it's just been the eastern top 8 waxing the west all season. Congratulations you have one more team that is fighting for a playoff spot, the west just sucks ass.

 

Actually let's look at it this way.

Points
East has earned 1256 points (62 from otl)
West has earned 1195 points (87 from otl)

I cant quickly distinguish where otl points came from but do note that the West has also earned more.

In equilibrium both conferences would have equal points. In our case the East has earned 61 more points (30.5 more wins) than the West, and this is barring the extra 25 otl points that the West has gained (which once again, could be solely in-conference or solely out of conference but is likely somewhere in the middle).

Based on this, the East is approximately 5.1% more efficient at getting points than the West.

Goals
East has scored 4093 and allowed 4131 (-38)
West has scored 3981 and allowed 3943 (+38)

Goals will cancel out within conference, meaning in inter-conference games the West is up by 38 goals.
23 of 82 games are out of conference (28%) meaning (28% of the goals total / 38 goal diff.)

The West has approximately 3.3% more efficient gf/ga while playing against the East.

Variance
The West is 9.1% less variant from top to bottom, implying it is 9.1% more competitive.

Median
A middle of the pack East team is: (Syracuse, Utica)
46-27-4 with 97 points, 276 GF and 279 GA

A middle of the pack West team is: (Milwaukee)
39-34-5 with 82 points, 270 GF and 267 GA

This shows (especially if you look at the goals variance) that top East teams are inflated by bottom East teams, but according to points and goals are no more or less competitive than the more balanced West.

Our first goal was a 1T from the point by a D-man, and second was a breakaway backhand top shelf. We should've had more, but Mercy is a strong tendy. 10X better than Grayzer...I'll give you that for sue. You guys' first goal wasn't bad, but goals 2 and 3 were lucky bounces in front of the net and pucks squeaking in.

As far as getting 7th, GL. Making up 5 points on Grand Rapids in 4 games would be impressive. And yes, we have slipped to third (Tied in points but Charlotte has 2 more wins), but we play the Checkers tonight, so it will be fixed soon enough. Either way, we've been 2nd all season and leading the division up until now, so again...not losing any sleep. The west being so competitive doesn't necessarily make it better, but it does make for a more interesting last handful of games.

Should compare the top 8 in each conference. The west has better bottom teams because they haven't had to play the east for more than half their games. West just struggles in beating the bad teams in their conference.

 

And you're not gonna call your second goal completely lucky, when you can see Dave full on poke the puck mid pass and it just shifts a little to the left and continues past both D? Shut up.

Don't try to hide behind EA when you lost. People who hide behind EA are the same people who have half a thumb and should be in the CHL.
