While creating rules for the league there is obviously things we want to poll the fighters on, for the first season we want to hear what your opinion on fighter rankings for cards will be.

At each PPV: LGMMA 1 LGMMA 2 and LGMMA 3 in the first season we will see the current champ face off against the Number 1 contender highest fighter points of a non-champion. So the question is posed as this: Should the #1 contender be in LGMMA 2 and LGMMA 3 the overall amount of points or the highest points in between each pay per view? Only registered fighters can vote in this poll. Anyone who is not a fighter's vote will not count.

Feel free to have a discussion here!

Sevv09 when will the league officially begin? I haven't gotten my Xbox one yet but I've expressed that the idea of this league excites me and I'd like to help you create and expand it. Will there be late sign ups if I get the the one late? Probably getting it in a few weeks.

LIVE Jordan you can sign up now if you will have the game for sure by July 27th. You will most likely be in the lower division as you won't have as much hands on time.

3 fights a week for ranking purposes PPV on the 4th 8th and 12th week

At least for the first season. After the first season we may change it up.

I really like this for now because everyone will have a really good amount of fights in before a PPV and have a good ranking and then before next PPV then have 3-4 weeks to fight for the contender spot for ppv

When will this poll close?

So...I'm a nub at MMA / UFC...etc.

A season has ppv's: LGMMA 1, 2, & 3
Champion will fight leading contender at those events at end of week.
We are polling on how to choose the contender. Question is - are #1 Contender the player with highest overall accumulated from week to week OR the highest overall for that week?

I have 2 questions

1. How are the points for each fight determined and weighted? I think each of our votes will depend on what's the likelihood of there being a new contender based on the possibility of climbing the ladder?

If week to week, contenders will battle it out...and the question becomes for option 2 - are we looking at a king of the castle becomes contender approach?

2. Let's assume the champion gets defeated at the PPV. What points does the champion earn during the week? What I'm getting at is...how easy is it for him to get back on top vs how difficult will it be for him to become top contender again?

I hope I'm not off topic and instead am providing some useful discussion. If I am off topic, someone please get me up to speed so I can better understand.

Thanks,
Bp

It would be either all points or monthly points.

1) KO/Sub Victory would be most point, Victory decision would be second most, Loss via Decision would be worth a small amount of points, KO/Sub loss would be no points.

2) The Champion would still be earning points along with everyone else, so obviously if he was to win every match by KO until the pay per view. Under the overall points he would obviously have a good lead, on a reset after each pay per view he would be equal among all of the fighters and who ever had the best month would fight for the champion.

The Difference between options come down to a bad week or two could place someone in a hole if we do overall points (more realistic), where a reset after each title fight means anyone could potentially get hot and have a chance. This is something we will be looking at every season to come up with the best balance for the league.

Not to be a stick in the mud, but at first wouldn't it be best to do monthly points so we don't too many guys getting frustrated and giving up right off the bat ??...until we get a couple seasons under our belt that way there's enough time to get acquainted and setup?

Also how about throwing in a "challenge" option from brand new fighters in subsequent seasons? (Forgive me for being a nub...but in the Rocky series...wasn't it mostly based on unknown challengers taking down the champs?). If champ loses - his points get reset cuz he lost against a nub. He can decline if he thinks he will just humiliate him. Nub has the option of challenging at any level and start his career taking that person's spot if he wins. Benefit to the fighter accepting the challenge: regular points + bonus points for taking on an unknown challenger. Consider this like an optional entry fight for new sign ups ?

If we go with an overall points system, I will be working on a upset factor for points so say if Bottomless Pit is ranked #2 and I'm ranked say #6 and I win maybe I get bonus points to help me climb the tier. This would only be after the first month because it could cause too much swing if say in week 1 bp faced the worst 3 fighters and i took on the top 3.

I'll be interested to see how this works once NHL comes out. A lot of people (not me, it's literally 45 min of UFC a week) who signed up for this league will probably stop playing their matches. I hate to say that, but you know it's true.

This was why I didn't want to schedule times, leaving it open ended should allow more people to remain active.

I like the idea that matches will be held as needed...around the NHL.

Makes me wonder if I'll be able to do LGFL actually. It wouldn't hurt to schedule the PPV nights for Thursday nights though - after hockey. Might help generate alot of attention and get more fighters.
