How Bout Some Off-Season AHL Insider?

No not mad at all, he had a great season and deserved the award I just never won a spelling bee

 

I still believe that DOMS should have won it.

DOMS had a phenomenal season, and his numbers proved that he was an absolute workhorse who was incredibly reliable for his team, he was so solid. I just had very flashy numbers due to the fact I played on an incredibly good offensive team and I am an offensive player, but I know my defence is above average at best. (I just had the self realization that I am PK Subban, so I have to commit suicide now...)

Regardless, congratulations on a fantastic season for all award winners and best of luck to everyone in season eighteen.

 

This thread is old... but I just wanted to post something because someone made this post, so there is at least some interest in Insider...

Whether you like my style or not, I worked very, very hard on media in S17 up until the point that I stepped away. In fact, I know now I put too much time into it, considering i was an AGM (then a GM) and work and coaching IRL. And honestly, I really don't miss it. I miss fucking around with Jake and the guys who did the show with me. I miss hearing positive feedback. I miss cracking up while I edited the shows. But, I dont miss the bullshit that came after every post. I dont care what you think and I'm not whining... but just so everyone knows, I'm not into this media thing anymore. It's just not worth it to take 6-8 hours a week to film and edit the show and then like 10 hours every other week to completely assemble the magazine. Some of you are worth it! Some of you are not. I'm sure some people would be glad to see Insider go away. And that's fine.... stupid, but fine. Me stopping has nothing to do with any of you, whether you're a fan or a troll. I just don't want to do it anymore. I'll still be around, but not in the capacity that I have been.

 

Thanks for all your hard work Funsley, you, and AHL Insider, will be missed.

I will speak for the silent majority who will miss this show, it's contents and most of all it's characters. While a lot of your opinions turned people the wrong way, it also gave them something to discuss and kept them coming back for more flaming posts. It made internet hockey that much more fun and for that, I think EVERYBODY will miss this show.

Cheers and best of luck moving forward. I hope someone finds some extra time to add to our community and give us something to bitch about on a weekly basis

Just kidding bud. Although I'm gonna miss hearing Jonah Hill talk virtual hockey once a week, made being apart of the site that much more enjoyable. I understand your decision though, best of luck

 

What were the problems?

 

idk 75% of the show was just nonsense. when actual league talk happened it was the best. the best bits were ahl live last summer, that was a good time.

 

Too many to name.... Suffice to say, l'm tired of being the one to carry the load.

 

This is a shame but anyone who doesn't understand where you are coming from is crazy. I know leafy already thanked you but I also want to extend my thanks to all of the hard work that you put into AHL insider and the magazine. Hopefully someone will pick up where you left off and provide some quality media next season. Good stuff Funsley, I hope you can just sit back and relax and enjoy S18.

I'm not the one who's all butt hurt over the demands. Remember, I quit media!! What would I be rattled about?

 

If you need something to do media then get the hell over it. Hell I pretty much got tons of shit for not doing media on the media team and I didn't make any god damn demands. Grow up.

You quit on the mag, and insider was noticable different when it lost jake. Sorry you weren't carrying anyone. You deserve a clap of the hands for what you have done, and guess what you got that and honestly more. No one is getting paid you can fade off into just being a below average defensemen now and people will forget how you once were funny when jake was around.

you literally couldnt be dumber about not carrying... not that i said i ever did carry anyone, least of all ERICE or Toots. and how you gonna call me out for the mag when you didnt contribute a thing to it? Eric and I did something no one else could do. now we're gonna get funding for some fancy mag creating website. great... but the notion of a magazine wouldnt even exist without Eric and me leading the way. All the bosses ever did was let us post it. We made it without asking for anything... but a little consideration woulda been nice.
