Community Vote : Delay Or Play?

More on the management then players but atleast there is a vote?

On a serious note, living in Winnipeg I've been living with at least a half second button delay since the middle of S18, so I really don't care either way.

 

i want my 5 minutes back.

I don't know if you're serious or not, but if the season is going to start before EA fixes the game I would like to opportunity to retire. Whether you're the one with the issue or playing with/against the person with the issue, it ruins the game.

 

I was serious and I also would like to retire if the season start is delayed because it puts it deeper into Dec, & breaks up into Jan & also pushes the off season back as many weeks.

 

Long story short we are losing people either way, if we start we will lose a good deal of management due to the extra bullshit. If we wait we may lose some players, but some of the management will stick around. There is no good choice here just one that needs to be made.

 

I think if there's any question about things it should be delayed. If there's as many people saying delay then it seems like it would be smart unless you want mass numbers of people quitting the league because they can't enjoy the game anymore. Clearly it's not just one internet provider or region it's clearly an EA issue and waiting for them to release something would be smart. I mean I think everyone can agree starting the new season off without problems would be best, unless guys feel like sitting in lobby's for 2 hr games cause guys keep lagging out. It's really a no brainer folks why start a season with this kinda of problem?

 

That's odd, I've rarely had lag problems and im in winnipeg.

 

Does it really matter... people are going to cry regardless... last season the playoffs were brutal but we all figured it out and got it done... and speaking of playoffs, where is my cup that i got carried to?!

 

Perfect? Maybe not, but we can expect them to release something at least as good as previous years.

To the people voting to play on as planned: Why? What is the big hurry? Shorten the season on the back end if it's such a big deal.

The best option from here is to wait a week or two and see if EA can fix the problem, or we can find a reliable workaround. If it isn't fixed by then, let people retire for the season without bans, and call up players from the AHL/CHL to fill the gaps.

 

Every game has a flaw, as a community we know the NHL series is going to have more than others. We have come to expect very little effort on their end. I agree on waiting it out, but what commitment do we have from them. Look what the NHL did in the last year or so, I wouldn't say that's leading evidence in the right direction.

 

I originally thought it was no big deal but it is not playable in lobbies. Spent 30 minutes and only got 5 minutes into the period before a lagout. No point to do anything but delay because it is a complete hassle.

 

Here's another issue. Some people are just plain terrible at the game so they are going to go along with the whole lag thing. Reason being is they are waiting for possibly a patch to come out or adjustment that would give them an advantage. There is no way to find out who is actually lying or who is just shit at the game and usin Lag as an excuse. You have already done NHL and now AHL bidding. if people had an issue with this shit they should have mentioned it before NHL bidding, or just didn't sign up for the season.

 

2 solutions..

#1 - Every team has a few guys who swear they never get input delay. Make them host all your home games (or as much as possible), problem solved.. sort of.

#2 - Tweak the rule to allow the possible lagging host to back out and restart, or to back out and play 6v5 (yea.. sucks.. but it's the cards were dealt by EA).
