bought mine in august 2006, and it just trashed out on me. feb 21, 08. thats a good amout of time i think. funny thing is though, it wasnt red ring of death, it was the drive just didnt read any games, and dvd cleaner didnt work. nothing worked at all it didnt even spin the disc. im so sad my first xbox is gone
I finally got my machine back this week. There are two things that I have noticed. The first one is that the service center changed out my dvd drive. I now have the BenQ drive. The second thing is that the machine runs much quieter with and without a dvd running. I guess I will just keep my fingers crossed and hope that I don't have to go through this a fourth time.
Had the lauch xbox 360 Bought another one a week ago and then this one goes and breaks yesterday E74 error guesse it had a good run though.
It's kind of funny how most people believe they had a good run when it dies past a year. I have had quite a few consoles and all the other ones are still running today without any issues. These things are junk!
Agreed i'll bet a steak dinner my NES still works, even if i have to stick a piece of lego between the game for it to stay down lol
mine broke last year around may and the new one i got was in september and that one finally broke on like march 18th so yea the xboxs suck
my sega genisis STILL WORKS ...UM LETS SEEEE bought probally around chrismas 1991-1992 lol 16 years still works if i blow off the dust !!!
So now my 360 is on vacation in exotic Mesquite Texas.... for the third time.. I have been led to believe if this one doesn't work, I get bumped to the "Express Personal Service, with overnight shipping" !!! wow, mine are so crappy i get special service
Thats like throwing a big turd at you instead of waiting for you to come step in it. What a bunch of crap. How many other businesses and stores have lemon policies on repairs or replacements? They need to give you a new one. On the bright side, your Xbox is well traveled and probably has some frequent flyer miles.

I bought mine Sept 06 and it lasted until June 07. I gave the replacement to my brothers and bought an Elite. It's been good since.
Bought mine Sept 07 and it keep freezing starting in feb 08 of this year . Sent it back cause it was doing it 5-8 times a night that or the dirty disk error which didnt make sence cause all my discs are brand new.. Anyways sent it back on April 4th Still waiting for it to come back
went to best buy and got my replacement once again. got the new go pro edition. Best buy actually issued me a credit b/c the prices of 360's went down. $52.50 store credit!
Just making note the drive on my 360 is messed up ( disk drive ) the system itself works but i can not play my games without the 360 sratching the crap out of them. This coming week I will be buying a new 360.
Bought my 360 Fall of 06' and just Crapped out on me with the "Red Ring of Death" at the End of January 08'. Took only 2 Weeks to get one back to me though so i was quite pleased.
well, this one started freezing up and from tthe time I plugged it in, the power brick had a high pitched whine to it. I just took it back and upgraded to the Elite. I forgot to even ask if they could transfer my files, so I'm SOL with my saved games. I was on Disc 3 of Lost Oddyssey . Gotta get back on it.
dont you get all your saved files back when you recover your gamertag? i know with halo 3 i can get all my achievements and maps and all that when i recover it onto another xbox. should do that with the other games too correct?
