Well, I apparently have just joined the ranks of the broken 360 owners. Mine just got the three red rings of death. It was a launch box so compared to most others, I did okay. Luckily for me, the repair center is in Texas so I should have a shorter wait than most.
Well its happened. Just when I thought I had an immortal 360 (I swear I have the only launch 360 never to die....until now) I get the RRoD. It all happened a few days ago when I was restarting my frozen 360. I got the RRoD when I turned it back on but I thought maybe its because I turned it off and on so fast. So I thought nothing of it. It later did turn on no problems. Yesterday I played a solid 8-9 hours of Assassins Creed, so it was used heavily yesterday. I left off at an assassination that was tough for me so I decided to try it out today before work. I turn my 360 on, boot up the game; so far so good. After the cinematic I proceed with the assassination but notice something odd. The color blue was of high emphasis in the environments. It was fuzzy and everything had a blue shader. Ive had this problem before, and to fix it all I had to do was restart the 360. So I turn it off and then turned it back on.......uh oh. Now whenever I turn it on its just the three flashing red lights. I believe I set a new record though on how long a 360 lasted. November 2005 to December 2007. And to make it better, it dies on my holiday break. 2 years and 1 month, try to top that folks. I guess I have to give MS a call. My 360 should be covered under that warranty thing, but now I just have to wait a month to get it back (if not longer). I knew it would happen eventually and so it has, so I guess you can say the 360 has met my expectations. Luckily I havent played much of Mario Galaxy so this will give me more time to play it as well as finish Uncharted and play some more UT3 online via PS3. "Today we lost a legend. Sorry to hear, however i still have a launch system.. I hesitate to even mention this becuase this will jinx me more than likely..
haha mine was in your guys category till about a month ago. Mine had the games starting to get fuzzy like an old school SNES game where you would have to blow the dust out of the cartridge. Mine took about 5 weeks to get back when I sent mine in
My DVD drive busted today, won't read anything and makes a horrible gnashing sound in the process. Worse yet, it's not a red ring of death and I've had it a year and a half so it's out of warranty. Looks like I also apparently have no reason to try and rush and get a new one anytime soon either, so the PS3 will be my only system for a while (forever?)
ohh this is going to be fun let see jan 06 feb 07 april 07 june 07 sept 07 and one last time but i forgot which month whatever month the ps3 came out.
Mine is going back to best buy tomorrow. This will be #5 for me...luckily I've only spent the original $399 + $65 for the replacement plan.
I received my 360. Well, technically it wasn't mine as they sent me a different box. It's not a new one though (it's mf date is 2006). It took 3 weeks exactly since the day I shipped it out. It was a long 3 weeks!
I sent mine out January 2nd and got mine back January 10th but that was after a lot of complaining on the phone...
Well my 360 (or should I say somebody else's returned 360) has shipped out to me via FedEX. Due here on the 23rd it says.
My second xbox that I had bought from someone trying to sell it at a Gamestop has now died. It was manufactured on 3-27-06.
My second one died on the 6th. It is now sitting, waiting to be picked up. It will be shipped on the 11th.
Mine died just under a year after i got it... three flashing rings pfft... anyways on my second box and its still ticking....
