1st LG's ESPN COLLEG okay.... we have now 16 members interested for the 1st LG's ESPN COLLEGE HOOPS before we start, lets have a consensus here on how are we going to run the league. 1. who will be the commish (i nominate windlessmoney.... "who let the dogs out... hoooo hooo hooo hooo hoooo!!!) 2. how many games per week (suggestion 1 game/week) 3. how many games per season 4. what will be the settings we're going to use (level of difficulty etc.) 5. tentative start of the league post here if you have any ideas. thanks  if you're interested to join, here's the link: http://www.leaguegaming.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=127062
1. who will be the commish: I would love to be commish...I am active, competitve and easy to reach. 2. how many games per week : I think it should be at least 2, maybe 3...Basketball is a easy sport to play, easy to get games in..etc.. 3. how many games per season: I think there should be at least 25 games with a tourney at the end.. 4. what will be the settings we're going to use: I think it should be: 15 min quarters All-American 5. tentative start of the league: I think we should wait for at least 20-22 people then begin.. what do you guys think?
First off, i have a better shot at being commish then you and thats a long shot  also one game per week 15 games total 12 minutes, All American WE should have around 12-16 people
I wouldn't expect to get more than one game per week there. Most active people here are participating, on average, in 3 leagues. A lot of them are in more so time is a huge factor. You are still fairly new here so you might not understand the scheduling problems that arise. Sometimes it's only one small timeframe that both parties can agree to play. Commissioners are always veterans of LeagueGaming.
It doesn't matter if you're new, new people can still get spots ahead of proven veterans in basketball leagues.
The only league that plays more than 1 game a week here is the NHL. Every other league is 1 game a week.
Actually in the first season for baseball we had 3 games a week, sometimes 4. But that's it just 2 leagues out of all of'em
Sorry I meant to say "legitmate" leagues so naturally I excluded MLB. NHL is the only one besides "MLB". We also used to play 2 games a week for football though but stopped for the 2K5 seasons. Also I don't understand why X-Factor you're coming in here trying to suggest we should change the way things are done here and offering to commish leagues. That's not the way it's done here. As far as I know no one here has a clue who you are. :?
He was talking about being Commish. But you're right, we consider more than your joined date when admitting people to a league.
Settings should be: 12 mins All-American 1 game/week 14-16 games ( havent checked how many games can be scheduled) Open sign up Monday. Close on Nov 27th. Assign teams the night of the 28th. Start date Dec. 5th. This gives everyone 1 week to practice with their teams. With it only being a 14-16 game season, the season will end around March madness. Im sure by then people will still be interested in this game.
Being as this would likely be a small league (16 or so People), I'd think that 16 Weeks would be too long. I think a solid 8 or 10 game season and then the NCAA Tournament to follow that.
i disagree..I think we should push and try to get at least 20..with a 1 OR 2 games a week, with a 14-16 game season, with a following tourny..
I think it should be: 10 minute halves All-American As far as number of teams: it should be on the number of sign-ups Limit of 30 with atleast 20 vets and possible 10 noobs. depends on sign-ups How ever many teams we have we should play 1/2 the number of teams if we have less than 30 teams...... No more than 15 weeks Of course 1 game a week Ending with a Tourny Setting should be based on the majority. My .02
