Palffy retired today, due to naggin shoulder injury. I can't believe this. It was odd how he only had 40 pts and he was playing like and old man out there. But damn this sucks for all of us who have him in your pool. I acually got him in 2 pools for $$!!!

And sucks even more if ur a Pitts fan cause his $$ still goes towards the cap this year. Ouch

 

thank god he is off the pens. couldnt stand him, although he was the only off-season signing i liked. but he just did not play like the ziggy of old.

the money will still count towards the cap this year, but so what lol. they save 10 million over the next 2 years which is great. now lets see how CP and Mario can screw that up now

:roll: It's political. It has NOTHING to do with fan support or lack thereof. You need to do your homework before coming in here and saying something like that. The Gov. of Pen. has been more than willing to hand out funds and use (abuse) his power for the good of the Steelers and Pirates (Look at their new stadiums). From what I have read, the Governor doesn't seem to want to help. He should look at it in another way. Many of his constituants will be losing their jobs. How does that help Pennsylvania?What makes Pit. so deserving of a baseball and football team if it's such a "small" market. In this day and age teams have a hard time competeing in out of date stadiums and arenas. Heck, in St. Louis, they charge the Blues a 5% tax on EACH ticket sold How much do they charge the Rams and Cardinals? You guessed it 0% :roll: Don't mean to jump all over you Josh but your response wasn't very well thought out. 8)

 

They shouldn't have teams if thats the case, I hope pittsburgh comes to canada

roy actually had some skill, dont know where it went. cairns was a good player in the old nhl. yeah he will make us tougher but whoopie he does nothing else.

Yeah, you know that's a huge tough break for Pitts. They are amidst building their team once again but this is something that is going to bring them down once again.

 

Pittsburgh is a "soft" team...Carins will add some protection for Crosby. As far as Palffy..I was amazed that he was a +5 on that team. His offense may have left him but he was getting it done defensively. Tells me he was an intelligent player.

 

ziggy leaving wont bring them down any further. it will actually help them out the rest of this year and 11.5 million over next 2 years.
