Final Verdict: How can you really hold Colonel of any fault other than trolling when he should have told the kid to buzz off.

 

I agree with you 100%. Was Snake nice in approaching Colonel with his concerns about illegal roster substitutions? No. Was Colonel nice in his response to Snake? Not at all. Yes, Colonel was an idiot and he will be the first to admit to it. Were things taken out of context? I do believe so. Was punishment deserved? Absolutely. However, 2 season ban for a first time offender who has accepted responsibility for what he said is a bit much. A week suspension? Sure. Like @MadeOfTwoFaces said above, there has been much worse things done which resulted in a simple slap on the wrist. I think @Colonel20 was used as an example here and I think the punishment was unfair, especially knowing what I know about the character of Snake

Well now this is rather interesting. i've seen all the messages in this situation, i was in a party with him last night and all i said is that you have to be careful what you put in text because people can't hear the tone in you voice and if its sarcasm or not, it's like texting your women (not all women). did i see @Colonel20 getting a tongue banging from the league over it yes, did i see a ban absolutely not. give the guy a communications ban or something for sending dumbass messages not a full on ban from the league over a message. this guy literally and i mean literally dies for this league i knew it from the day he dragged me and like 5 other of my buddies into it. the dude is responsible for quiet a few people joining the league, he has done a lot of good for it. was what he said appropriote nah definately not but i can tell you right now he was trying to be funny so that a lot of people could get a good laugh out of it. i think some of the league staff is just upset because in the message they are brought into it but really you have to be blind to not understand that it wasnt a true statement and that's only something that can be made up.

As for this snake guy i've seen his message as well and i just laughed my ass off, i got the image from someone other then colonel because they were curious if what he claimed was true. i even told this person he should send a troll message back calling him a fucking dumbass and to actually read the rule before accusing someone.

Sorry but this is just dumb, first time offender, and a 2 season ban no warning for one message? I've been a GM more than 8 times between LG and VHL and I KNOW I've done worse and I've done them out in the public forums. Calling someone a burger flipper and saying the crabs on your balls can run a team is nothing compared to what I've seen posted on either site.

Undo this shit ASAP it should only be a day or week suspension at worst. So from what I've gathered we are banning manager who is well liked by the other managers/players, gets on nightly to deal with this game and hasn't been in any sort of trouble before. Interesting...very interesting.

Doesn't make much sense to me, I've seen much worse "trolling pm" sent. I guess we are now catering to those who get their feelings hurt as it would seem.

I thought this was LeagueGaming, not the state of Missouri.

 

If anything, site staff provoked Colonel to post an epic response.. which he did. Troll post is slightly inappropriate as a member of management but when he is basically told to do it by site staff I'm sure he felt obligated to do so. He doesn't deserve a two season ban that's for sure, let's use some common sense here and get him reinstated.

I say fire the staff who advised him to send an ill advised message. Staff too need to be held to a higher standard not be shit disturbers.

 

The focus isn't that the site member told him to do it, but basically said it was ok.

Either way this whole situation is pretty fucking in the end. A manager PMs another manager a troll letter and now has to sit for 2 seasons...
