First of all I had nothing to do with this ruling as I've been away from staff things due to some personal matters.

Secondly if you really wanna know since it seems no one can understand the processes I have nothing at all to do with a game related complaint. The BoG handle all of those and the commish for each league don't become involved unless there's a question or an appeal.

Third I'm just now attempting to get caught up on the situation and see exactly what happened and why the ruling was made how it was.

So before you want to throw out your accusations perhaps you should make sure you have all the information.

Also if I'm going to be trolled I atleast expect the troll quality of @MadeOfTwoFaces or @Noobinator156 to be brought to the game.

For your information since you want to throw out things from the rule book perhaps you should review the removal process section.

Nowhere does it state that after three strikes are issued a player is automatically removed. It does however clearly state that the management has to submit a player removal request using the strikes as evidence for removal.

To clarify it for you even more they actually sent brodie and myself a pm asking what they should do in the situation and we informed them that they could file for removal which would be granted or they could use the player'status ir option. They chose the ir option instead of a removal.

I'm not a fan of Crass, but there's no possible way Charlotte should be using the same IR guy for two weeks IN THE PLAYOFFS. There's always been a rule that players can be used for one week IR callup for playoff games. This situation makes me angry. Being a "new manager" with "different interpretations" is hardly a legitimate excuse, regardless of prior rulings, it's the playoffs.

Have you considered that perhaps the previous rulings were incorrect when the rules are read as written, instead of how some might wish them to read?

3.4.3 is pretty clear that a player may request an IR stay of up to two weeks.

"Players can only request IR for a maximum of two weeks per season."

3.4.4 is pretty clear that another player can be called up as a replacement once per playoffs. Not once per playoffs series, not once per week, but once per playoffs.

The intent seems clear. A player can go on IR if he wants for up to 2 weeks. The team can call up a player to replace the IR'd player until the original player returns.

What section of the rules supports your interpretation?

 

For as long as I've been management, which is a long time going back to VHL, the rule has always been interpreted as one week during the season and one week during the playoffs. I can't recall a situation like this because managers have always been aware that no matter how vague it is written, that is what it means.

 

Good thing one of your fellow gms were so petty to challenge the meaning and the obvious lack of clarity is to be resolved in the off season, amirite?
