D-Subs have never caused divergence errors for me. It's those stupid D-Matchups that cause the errors I think. I sub in Mike Doss for Gibson at SS every game.

We've already had this discussion in another thread, I sent an official protest in to Sega about that game and the fact that you won it due to a un-patched bug in the game.

    Didn't count, never happened. hehe

    1) No, I have not been blown out.

    2) I know that noone else subs (at least when playing me), because in my 30+ games, not once has my opponent gone into the substitutions page and changed players.

I personally have not experienced this divergence error, I'm just passing along info that I've read from other forums where people have concluded that making substitutions can cause divergence errors (as well as using an alternate playbook and making defensive strategy changes, ie. double team, assigning a defender to an offensive player, etc).

Anyway, the point is that I will not bench a starter in favor for a backup during a blowout because there is simply no reason to do it in an exhibition game. If people don't want Faulk to run the ball, talk to Raptor, Trigga, Indigo, etc.. they've all found ways to stop him. He's not Superman (like Ricky Williams  )

I'm not talking about subbing when they are losing, when its a blowout is what I mean, and you just said you have never been blown out so you don't know what I mean.

Yes, I know that's what you mean. I've never done it, and from the results that I've seen, not many others are doing it either (look at some of the other RB's that are getting 200-400yd games... I don't see any backups coming in).

Anyway, to pause the game, spend more time delaying the inevidable, and sorting through the substitutions would probably piss off the guy getting blown out more than just continuing to play and running out the clock.

Part of blowouts is the great defense being played too, so should we be benching our starting defense too? Or maybe calling goalline defense on obvious passing plays so that they can make the score more respectable? I just don't see the point. I've been blown out in hockey, and I didn't see my playing partner putting the 2nd string goalie in or only using his 3rd and 4th lines.

Scoring alot isn't against the rules.

    "Running up the score" is:

-passing alot with a big lead
-not punting with a big lead
-calling timeouts with a big lead
-going for 2pt conversions with a big lead
-no huddle offense with a big lead

I helped write that post, I think I know what the intentions were.

BTW, did anyone see Moss, Harrison, J.Lewis, Manning, etc get pulled from their games when they were posting monster numbers in a blow out game in the past weeks of the NFL?

This conversation is going nowhere so let's just end it here.

yeah, no point in going crazy - it's funny, the coolness of the scoreboards actually encourage people to run it up, cause they get to see their players names up there...

i think people just need to be as reasonable as they can be...

Lat, gotta give you some props for the 2-0 start, especially considering that you have a losing record in exhibition play. Seems that you've turned it around for the games that count!

Your first opponent with a winning record is Indigo in week 8, so lets see if you can keep up the undefeated record or maybe the "due" factor will kick in for those teams that haven't been getting the lucky bounces yet.

If you keep your record undefeated, and I do as well, I can bet what the featured game in week 11 will be when we play each other. =P~
