First off, thanks Brisan for putting this idea in my head by mentioning the idea in Clutch's thread. Okay so, here is how I would like to do this. As, one person should not be solely responsible for doing a top 100. I don't care how good you were S8 or even last season. I want this to be a seasonal list of the top 100 players for THIS season. Same way the NFL does their top 100. I want to avoid the "Popularity" contest, a lot of people view top player list as. Hence, why 1 person should not be solely in charge of the top 100 on their own. Other wise, @TertleToes is number 1, @Manning x76 is number 2, and I am number 69 lol Anyways! Here is my plan, throughout the course of the season, I am going to create a database, filled with players suggested by Managers, odd ball stand outs, etc. Anyone blowing up the stats page, all that good shit. These guys will be entered into a document, putting them as POTENTIAL top 100 players. This list will be updated weekly with new names/faces too look at and growing throughout the season. During the finally week of the season, we will begin to list players 100-76. The Saturday BEFORE the first round of the playoffs, the first list will come out. The following Saturday before round 2 starts, 75-51 will be posted. The Saturday before the semi final round, 50-26, and finally, the Saturday before the finals round stars, 25-1 will be posted. PLAYOFF STATS WILL NOT ALTER THE RANKINGS. This is for the regular season only. Scrub hunters beware, average strength of opponent(line) will be factored in. So when you drop 80 points and are wondering why you ended up 77th on the list, its most likely because you spent the season playing against Helen Keller and her 3 blind mice friends. Great Idea, would be cool to split it up positionally since it’s really hard to compare a Goalie against a Wing or Center. Maybe drop a Top 20 list of each position and then release 5 per position each week. Always down to help you need it.
Yeah, that’s not a bad idea. But I mean we always do positionally. I want to do something bigger and do a complete top 100. We can do things off of that like “Based on this list, this is the best possible line on a certain team” and stuff like that.
there’s really no need to defer from a regular top 100. it’s not as hard as people make it to compare G to FWD if you’re a top goalie who bails out his team every game you should higher than a 2ppg fwd
