Team of the Week and Stats Recap Week 1

This will be a weekly thing I’m doing on Skizzo’s stream each Friday and then posting officially on the site on Monday’s (barring anything crazy interrupting that). We’ll have a starting 5 as well as a 6th man (TC of the week).

This week we see a lot of big names but this may not be the case going forward. Let’s say a player averages 30 and 10 throughout the season, they won’t be getting in the team of the week as they are always playing to their standard, whereas a player who averages 20 and 8 has a week at 30 and 11, there’s good argument to put them in as they played “out of body” as many would say. That being said, this is the first week so we have no “standards” to go by, and thus I present to you…the week 1 TOTW!

But before we get started, I just wanted to highlight the top 3 players in each major stat category.

Team of the Week

6th Man – ShawtyisNumba1 (LAL)

Shawty loaded up against the Bulls this week for a 24 point, 3 assist, 3 steal game on 71% and 67% shooting.

PG – OG GrandPoppa (DET)

OG went 3-0 this week beating the Hawks, Jazz and Warriors, absolutely decimating GSW dropping 66 points. He averaged 42.3 and 11 this week on 71% shooting from the field and from deep.

SG – Torn Top5 (LAL)

Torn also had a 3-0 week taking down the Bulls, Nuggets and then the Hornets in OT. The highlight of the week for Torn was dropping 43 points and 5 steals vs the Nuggets, which helped towards his averages of 38.3 PPG, 5 APG and 2 SPG on over 65% shooting this week.

SF – vxnue (PHI)

Reigning DPOY and FMVP vxnue had a 3-0 week alongside the other members of the TOTW so far, beating the Hornets, Nets and Bulls. He averaged 30 PPG on over 60% shooting, with his highlight being his 28 points on 75% shooting against the hornets.

PF – Berry Grizzly (CHI)

Berry was the most offensively dominant PF this week, despite dropping a game to the Nuggets. He did help take out the Jazz and Pistons however. In those 3 games, Berry dropped 21.7 PPG and over 3 RPB. Shooting at just under an 80% clip on over 6 attempts from deep each game. STROKE THAT THING BERRY!

C – GO Strapz (CHA)

There were a few options at C this week, but Strapz took the award home. Taking out the Hawks and Heat and losing to the Lakers in OT, Strapz averaged 21 PPG, 14.7 RPG, 4.7 APG alongside 2 SPG and 1 BPG, all on over 80% shooting. This shows Strapz all around game, and his highlight was dropping 24, 16 and 5 vs the Hawks. For a guy that is “new” to C, we could see a potential steal of the draft here.

Honourable Mentions

STG Beast dropping a 40 point double double in a loss to the Lakers.

Jello30 dropping two separate 20 point 20 assist games.

Tricky x 91 with a 45 and 14 outing in his first win on the season.

oExtremee playing great defence in his first week, in his first league as the on ball lock.
