Star Wars: KOTOR

Anyone getting this game. I don't usually get RPG's but this game is supposed to be really great. Said to be very unique from traditional RPG's, so I'm seriously contemplating those one. Actually, I have contemplated enough because I just paid for it in full. IGN gave is a 9.5, and some other sites have followed. Here is the link:

It's a turned based/role playing game.

My score on the geek test isn't nearly high enough to purchase this one.

 

like the old final fantasies? if that is the case, i'll rent before committing. Two reasons, Star Wars games are very hit or miss and I tend to be very selective about RPGs. Like I love Diablo II, but hate most other RPGs. I don't know I'll have to rent it, i've been burned on too many Star Wars games *cough* Obiwan *cough*

 

Yep Diablo II is all about the action and finding the cool stuff in the game where as the others tend to follow the D&D rules and you have to get into the story to have fun with the game. I wasted many months hacking and slashing on Diablo II but couldn't ever even start Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale.

 

well guess this game isn't for everyone. i think it will be cool to have a game that is really long, and to do when you have had enough xbox live for a day. i just hope its good as everyone is saying.

 

this one may not be up my alley, but Jedi Academy will be.

 

I will prolly check this one out. I like Star Wars and I like RPG's. Another q relating to Star Wars....when does Galaxies come out for xbox....I heard it wasn't gonna than I just read somewhere like 20 min ago that it will come out for xbox.....I just didn't catch a date....did ne1 else? :?

 

jedi academy i heard of, but not galaxies, whats that one about.

 

Star Wars Galaxies is a MMORPG.....it has like 9 different planets that you can travel to...each planet being as big as the land in everquest (so pretty much 9 HUGE fully explorable planets). You pick a job after creating your character and kinda take it from there. If you wanna be a Jedi.....you pretty much need a miracle....because to stay true to the movies it is VERY hard to become one....so the number of actual Jedi's you will see in the game will be very limited. You can be a smuggler....to a friendly bar tender....whatever you want.....the only thing is I belive you have to pay to play just like in PSO...but I think it will be worth it. I will post the link when I find it.

 

I don't think they're going to release galaxies for the xbox...I think its just going to end up being on pc....but KOTOR is coming out tomorrow and that game is gonna be awweessomme =P~

that sounds like a good game, whats it about?

 

its about star wars of course, but 4000 years before the movies took place. you are one of thousands jedis choosing your destiny. you can join the light side and try to defeat the sith, or choose the dark side and become the sith.

its an action rpg, with either the traditional turn based fighting, or the big plus for me, fight on the fly like a normal action game. its being called the best rpg by EVERY (not almost every) magazine online or offline so far. and it should be in every store tomorrow. 'nuff said!
