Smit's Seasonal Post Bidding Grades

Hey guys I realize that there are a few players left in bidding and if a big name happens to be landed then I'll update this accordingly. The top 4 teams in each Conference will be graded with a little insight as to my opinion while the rest will just receive grades. (These will be in Alphabetical order so don't get butthurt)

Top 4 in EAST

1- Montreal Canadians

Offense- A+
Easily have the best depth at forward for all 3 lines, great job in bidding.
Defense- B
My guess would be that Demers x67 and M4TTH will be their top line followed by Global. Only concern is that 3rd line.
Goalies- B-
Global was able to grab some cheap 500k goalies who aren't very well known. If they turn it to be studs this team could cruise through the east. Either way though the offense will carry this team to the playoffs.

2- Ottawa Senators

Offense- A-
Devin and Soccer did a great job building with what the already had in Mark and Canucks. They should have no problem with at least 2 strong lines, that 3rd is a toss up.
Defense- B
I actually think Karly made a mistake and should've stayed on defense and this would be just that much better, Chan is a great guy but not sure his heart is into this season. Mitts I hope you have a strong back bc it's on your to carry this Dcore.
Goalies- B
I love what I've seen from SparkPlug and this he should probably get the starting spot and should've been bid up another million or so.

3- New York Islanders

Offense- A-
Wow these guys have great depth and will keep up with any team if it becomes a high scoring shootout, GB gets to play with Legend this season and the only reason they get the (A-) is because of passenger only being able to play Sunday games.

Defense-B+
Two solid defensive lines is something that 90% of the league can't say this season so grats.

Goalies-B
How the hell did five time only for 750k?!? This is another guy who was a cheap steal
in my eyes.
4- Washington Capitals

Offense-B
Any team that Bradley is on could never get less than a B, put him with 2 blind guys with no thumbs and he will make them into a starting line. All around depth here at forward, then you have Nuke Freeman.... yea LMAO

Defense- B
Very good starting line who shouldn't see many loses only concern here would be being in a must win scenario with the lack of 3rd like depth here.

Goalies-B+
If derpy is actually "DerpyDayCare" then this could be one of the better goalie tandems in the league.

WESTERN CONFERENCE

Top 4 in the West


1. Edmonton Oilers

Offense- B
The first 2 lines of this will both probably win 70% of their games, but that 3rd line is questionable.

Defense- A++
Hands down the best D-Core in the league, all around talent no weaknesses. Not only did they have JRock and Terry before bidding they solidified the 2nd and 3rd lines which could start for most teams. Great job Jay.

Goalies- A
I like oiler's to actually win the starting job here but both are talented

2. Winnipeg Jets

Offense-B
Nukebomb has the best contract in the league, When and "If" he ever goes to bidding he will be 6+ easy. Which let them overpay on Sty, who is good just not "5 Mill Good" All around though above average as a whole.

Defense- B
Ghandi and Lafonde are studs, everyone knows that, and to be honest this defense should probably be a B+ or an A-. BUT have Greece play another year at D instead of forward weighed them down. Greece, SWITCH BACK!!!!

Goalies- B+
I've heard a few things about Canada this year and depending on if hes able to finish the season the Jets will go far in the playoffs

3. Minnesota Wild
Offense- B+
I'm not going to bash Shaun because his roster is actually well rounded. (Even though we know Dayman did the Bidding :razz This roster probably has 3 of the top 15 Fwrds in the league with, Kopy, Poland and Dutch. Im curious to see how the mix them up.

Defense- B-
Everyone here is "Good" but nobody is GREAT, solid depth throughout and a nice contract with Dumba at 2.25

Goalies- C+
Both are pretty good especially for 500k, nice finds in bidding

4. Nashville Predators

Offense- A+
This team easily has about 30 million invested in forwards alone, so they will live and die by outscoring everyone. Great job freak on having Bass GM and eat his cap. I would hate to play ANY line Nashville puts out there.

Defense- C+
Ok well they saved this D-Core with grabbing Maxwell, but the 2nd and 3rd pairs are going to have to play eventually in the playoffs...

Goalies- C+
Like i stated earlier this team is going to win by outscoring you. The pred's wont win many 1-0 Games. If these guys can keep the GAA to around 3 consider it a win.

Solid read, I personally think Detroit should have been ranked in the top 4. Hext for 3.5M was a steal and they added blink to an already solid core of fwds. Also, Saine on Ottawa is a dominant LD ... look out East side. But ya good work!

 

They were literally on the edge between 5th and 4th it was a hard choice, both have great rosters.

Yeah Carolina definitely should have been rated a little higher in my opinion, any team with Goblin and Jerz on D and Puzzle and Pryme on forward will be competitive plus they have numerous depth players.

I guess bc im playing goalie im being rough on them but not alot of teams have both a GREAT starter AND GREAT backup. Owners forget that the backup still has to play at least 3....
