Nope. From the look of it, it's a standalone for $299.

wireless, velocity sensitive, quieter, metal pedal and there will be a cymbal add-on.

Full instrument compatibility RB\GH both ways announced by Activision for 360. no PS3 confirmation yet. ouch!

this is awesome. like i've said, Red Octane are the hardware guys. i prefer the GH3 guitar already, and the GH4 axe looks to be even better with the touch strip for slides and tapping. the drums look better too. i'll wait for some hands on impressions of both kits, and hopefully get to demo the GH kit before launch somewhere. but i have a feeling i'll be buying the GH bundle to upgrade my equipment. and buying RB2 of course.

I've gotta say I am not entirely too impressed with the playlist of Rock Band 2 on disc. Sure it's double the amount of songs that came on Rock Band 1, but a lot of the songs I have to ask myself, "is this actually rock or pop rock?"

I am glad we finally got an AC/DC tune, but of all the songs out there you chose Let There Be Rock? Not a bad song by any means, but its perhaps one of the very few songs of AC/DC I don't care for.

    i hear ya...on both points.

the RB2 soundtrack is pretty solid. there are some major winners in there...RHCP, RATM, SOAD, Foo Fighters...with a bunch of questionable songs too.

i dont mind too many "pop-rock" songs...while i might never play these songs solo, i think they usually end up being pretty popular in a party situation. my ski house housemates will probably appreciate them. so it's good to have a mix.

and as for AC/DC...yeah...LOVE the band...but so many other songs i would have picked first. hopefully there's an AC/DC DLC pack in the works!

I have to agree, not really feeling the new playlist too much. Course the price for the premium set has me ticked off so much that that is probably half the reason. Really looking forward to what GH4 has to offer before I decide if I'm gonna buy either one. Really liking the drumset more for GH.

agreed. Activision is really taking the EA Sports approach to Guitar Hero - locking up exclusives to freeze out the competition.

Sandman is a bit of a crowd favorite, and I loooove Run to the Hills. kinda sucks. hopefully HMX can dig up a master of Run to the Hills and release as DLC.

having a big party next Sat...hopefully a friend is scoring me a copy of RB2 on Friday ;)
