Possible FIFA League Interest

Well....You guys can count me in for this league....Where I'm from, Football isn't a sport; it's a way of life!!!

I think the league can use the UEFA Champions League structure where we can have a few groups of 4 teams each depending on the amount of people that we have interested...But it is pretty complicated... Everyone would pick a club team from any teams available and we would have home and away games... We could use their point system also where a goal scored at home is more valuable then a goal scored in the opponents stadium....

After the 1st round is completed, teams with the best records would move into the next round working their way into the Leaguegaming Championship game...

Or we can use a World Cup structure with where each team is guaranteed at least 3 games and the 2 teams from each group with the best records would move on to the next rounds where it goes to single elimination... That way, a tournament would be quick and would go maybe a month to 1 1/2 months...

Anyways, I have a lot of ideas that I can share... Hopefully, we don't have to pay an extra fee to play FIFA '05...

 

I'm leaning towards the champions league idea but we would have to have an extended version of that for this league...because 6 games for some teams isn't enough for a full season...If we triple or quadruple that then it would make for more of a full length season.

 

Think about it though.... If we have 4 teams in one group and they have to play 2 Legs with each team, that's 6 games right there.... Plus each team that moves to the next round still has to play 2 Legs with their opponent.... The final game is the only game that doesn't require 2 Legs and it is played in a neutral stadium.....

We also have to remember that each will probably 2 halves of 10 min each....15 at the most with no time outs....so in 30 min max, the game is done!!!! So the season won"t be long at all....

Another idea is that you can have a full season like the Serie A in Italy where each team plays at least 3-4 games against each other and whoever ends up with the most points wins it or the top 4 or 8 play in a playoff for the championship....

There are many different ways of going about it

 

The only reason I don't like the 6 game idea is because the "not so good players" will only have a 6 game season. I want to give everyone a chance to improve and have fun by playing plenty of games. Thats why 18-24 games for the opening round(regular season) then the 2nd round, 3rd round and championship(playoffs) will be another 5 games for those 2 teams that make it all the way...So that'd be a decent size season.....But like I said, I'm not looking to finish the season in a matter of a few weeks. I want the 1st season to last a good month or two.

Im not a very big fan of watching but the FIFA games are always great to play so I would be interested. As long as EA doesn't think Im paying them to play their games.

OK hopefully one more person will sign up, that way we can get it around an even amount for good division numbers. Thanks to everybody who signed up, we got about 15 more people than I had expected for us to get.

Hopefully, and I repeat Hopefully this has generated enough interest for the council to go for it.

This league should turn out like the NCAA football league, where they had more people sign up than the amount that posted interest in the league

 

yeah probably, as for Gophers question sorry, I did mean interest, I meant it as in there are 29 people here that would probably sign-up if a league were to be held.

 

Yeh, just making sure, cuz it might scare some people off. As the game doesn't come out until sometime in October.
