This button layout is crazy. Any smart goalies are going to be playing a lot of the demo to get used to it.
Personally I love the new layouts. Gives way more flexibility with goalies which is what they need. I don't want my goalie doing a bunch of automatic shit. I genuinely feel bad for the people that have sub par connections where they share internet with others. Playing next gen goalie I feel like is going to require a great connection due to how easy it is to score in next gen.
It makes sense. When I first started playing goalie I would press LT with my pointer finger making it impossible to hit LB at the same time. I had to train myself to use my middle finger for LT so I could then use my index finger for LB. Now with the new set up its much easier once we get used to it.
EA already had it out for us. Now they've taken it to douche bag level; messing with our comfortably by switching the layout. Once we stop hugging posts instead of making that slight adjustment in the crease or dropping to butterfly instead of stopping the wrap, I hope that it's an improvement overall. Definitely different but I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that we won't know for sure how much the new goalie play will greatly effect/improve our game or how much it will hurt. I'm still optimistic, but I just hope they didn't go and make the hardest position on the ice even more difficult (in a bad way). Don't get me wrong I love the challenge, the difficulty and the pressure the position possesses. I'd hate for them to have worsen the game play with more crappy goals that you know you should've had 100% or when the puck sits in front of you and you hit Y to cover and he dives the opposite way..... I believe only the TRUE goaltenders out there, no matter how difficult it may be, will stick with it and remaster the position. Without question. I know I see this as a challenge but I'm already anxious to get started. EatMyHersheyBar
From what I understand they wanted to make it feel like the left and right hand were responsible for separate tasks including trigger and thumbstick (one for base movement, one for precision tasks) I am hopping the retool of the controls also evens the playing field a little bit. Gs are already so hard to come by, the adjustment period might lead to a few more giving it a wag and discovering they aren't half bad. Maybe I can play enough games to get good now and have a legit excuse for my 5 GAA lol
