More stat sugestions I hope this feedback is not taken the wrong way. If you guys never changed a thing, this league is still hands down the best league on the net. i Just love those stats. 1. I would like to see defense stat listing. I would like to see/follow who's leading in D overall and against the run and pass. And to know how my opponent stacks up and might be vulnerable. ie D against pass, run and Avg/game run and pass 2. Qb rating would be nice to follow. league leaders in passing yds doesn't always reflect effectiveness of the teams passing game. basically on passing leaders should list teams and QB rating listed with QB. This all might be overkill, and i might be alone in this and if so just chuck it and don't give it a second thought.
I'm sure in the future we will track more stats...but being season 1 we needed to begin somewhere. I'm sure we will open up more in the future seasons, but as for now I think it is great.
Defense is doable, and I've suggested that to Tris10 as well. The QB rating is not though, as it's very complicated calculation and uses some statistics that we do not enter into the calc.
is it possible that we could do something like... avg qb rating? like just enter the qb rating for that game and then average them all? i dont know anything about that qb rating soo my idea is prolly pretty dumb
I could do a a spread sheet to do Qb rating. I could input the numbers manually and turn them in to be posted. I don't know about twice a week, but a least every other week or monthly in league gaming time.
http://www.nfl.com/news/981202qbrate.html QB Rating Formula: Step 1: Complete passes divided by pass attempts. Subtract 0.3, then divide by 0.2 Step 2: Passing yards divided by pass attempts. Subtract 3, then divide by 4. Step 3: Touchdown passes divided by pass attempts, then divide by .05. Step 4: Start with .095, and subtract interceptions divided by attempts. Divide the difference by.04. The sum of each step cannot be greater than 2.375 or less than zero. Add the sum of the Steps 1 through 4, multiply by 100 and divide by 6.
So on each team's player roster the QBR column doesn't mean quarterback rating then? I thought it did.
Dang talk about a complicated system. Just on a side note how do they officially calculate the GAA for hockey?
I thought the average QB rating would be pretty accurate. That sounds like the easiest idea of the bunch to incorporate into the calculator
I made up a spread sheet to the Qb rating. I could do some this week and post it. Here are some for our passing yds leaders. P Manning INDY 142.6 Favre 118.2 Aaron Brooks 114 T. Maddox Steelers 108.5 M. Vick Falcons 106.4 T. Green KC 106.4 J Plummer Broncos 94.4 J Garcia SF 89.2 T brady NE 69.3 McNabb Philly 69.3
Originally, we did have QBR in the calculator, then I remembered that it's a calculated number, so an average QBR per game wouldn't be accurate (to be accurate, the QBR formula would have to be calculated in the database). We took it out of the calculator, but I guess Tris10 forgot to take it off the roster/stat page.
Now that I look at it I don't think a 145 QBR is even possible. I remember that loser Sean Salisbury talking about it a while back. BTW, how is Salisbury an ESPN expert? The guy freaking sucked as a QB. To me that's funny. The only thing he's good at is blasting John Clayton.
GAA = goals against / (minutes played/60) Example: If I play 3 games... game 1 - 1 GA (60min) game 2 - 2 GA (60min) game 3 - 3 GA (70min OT game) My GAA is: 6 / (190/60) = 1.89
147 is the highest allowable, and "perfect" QB Rating (due to the 2.375 max limit for each of the 4 calculations)
