Hi guys, I'm looking for suggestions for our first week (and the remaining two). We are specifically looking at RURAL/AUTUMN courses for the first 3 weeks, with the 3rd week being a really tough course for the Major. A reminder every 3rd week during the 12 week tour will be a Major. I'm also going to consider whether I adopt the XB1 setup of LT, where there are two courses to play, the first being the actual Major, the second being an "extra credit" tourney, but with only partial points involved. Each would be 4 rounds, giving everyone the ability to play 8 rounds of competitive golf a week. Remember, nothing is mandatory to play. When you suggest courses, please also comment on your thoughts on setup. Thanks! LB
Just don't make it any courses that is going to cause the PS4 to have frame rate and lag issues. Seems some of the PC built courses are doing that, too much info and bogging down the PS4. Just stay away from those and I am good with anything.
Twin Oaks was the first course I designed I feel like its a fair but challenging course with lots of risk/ reward shots. Let me know what you think.
A thought for majors is that there is a certain cutoff for people able to play in the event, then it would make sense to have a second tier event. Just like the real pro's... It would also add in to want to play well in the first few events, needing to qualify to play in the major. Seeing as though I'm struggling to play well right now, it's not exactly in my best interest to say this, but I think it could be fun. haha. It's also a way to make sure that committed players become a major champion, not somebody who is just going to play one event. If that makes sense.
I love that idea JDForthy. That would give the majors an extra special feel. Plus since I am way down on the leader boards it would be a great feeling for me when i finally make one! And maybe let the other tournament be only for the guys that aren't in the major. That way it gives some of the other guys a chance at winning a tourney
I like the idea. Makes it so someone cant come in and only play majors. Atleast have a minimum number of tournaments you need to play to qualify.
I also love the majors idea. To potentially add on to that if it wouldn't be too much additional work is to set them up almost like the real majors. The first one would be the top 50 players only. The second one we could hold a qualifying event for everyone outside the top 50 only with the top 20 getting an invite, same for the third and then the top 70 for the fourth. These numbers would need to be adjusted based on how many are going to be on the tour, but I think it would add something extra to make each major it's own.
Agreed on the Majors idea. My thoughts on the courses would be something challenging but not unrealistic hard (like many of the greens I have played trying courses). I had made an Autumn course called "Turning Leaf by Ashes" . It is tough but fun. Around the balance I am talking about if people want to try it.
Just please stay away from PC made courses, they put a ton of stress on the console players with too many objects and thus the games suffers frame-rate issues and it can take 10 swings before the ball will get hit. Very unpleasant to play them. One such course is Mt Falcon: PGA edition, we are currently playing that on the PGA Tour Tournaments play. That Tourney has cross platform players on score board. I like the idea of PS4 Leaderboards and courses only.
Until they are labeled, I will do my best to make a judgement that I find best for the community of players and the tour, based on feedback, etc.
