Why is there only 4 teams? Wouldn't it make more sence to have like 8? Possibly 10? Just seems odd to have ~25 players per team.
well you're going to need 25 or so players per team because there will be 4 rooms of 6 or even 8 players per room. each night. and you can't double up a night, kind of like the golf league only with halo. so you need as many people available and this way every game counts. and you can't play in every room.
I see. Hopefully the draft will go well than so one team doesn't get the majority of the dedicated owners.
Basically what Burnt said. After playing the Team Links, it is inevitable that someone won't show for their scheduled match (this will be punishable). Therefore, you need to have a few alternates who can be ready to jump in at that time. But yeah, basically there could possibly be 24 players per team playing each week. Therefore, only a few people will be alternates.
Which is also kind of like the original Planet MGP League...shh dont tell anyone we stole their ideas.
This is always a gamble. Ask the "D-Cups" :? . Hopefully everyone signing up understands the commitment they are making and we don't have that problem. I can assure you though, non-dedicated members will be strictly penalized.
Ic, good deal. I wish I could join this league. I totally forgot LG was gonna do a Halo 2 league so I joined a H2 league at XGP and one at XBLR. I think 3 would be over-kill. Either way I can still drool over the scoreboard. =P~
sheesh tell me about it, if it wasn't for canehdian and myself that team would be in shambles. there were others there too but we had our problems
There's an understatement. I think we went through like 10 FA's in our first season just to try and keep enough guys to just barely fill out each room :roll:
Maybe Shush never raced PRT/XRT. The point could be lost on him. Anyway they have a great league system for sure. However what ruins the experience is people not showing when they were to race. While I love the aspect of playing on a team with someone I hate losing based on the simple fact that some jerk didn't bother to show up leaving you short against a fully manned opponent. :evil:
Hey, I tore shit up in that Season 1 Team Links League. Go back and look at my game stats....every game I played in we lost lol.
You dont have to remind me socal I remember how crap you were at the game . I gotta give you credit though at least you were around when we needed you unlike most guys on our team in season 1.
so if i understand it right... We'll have 4 teams.. and on friday Saturday and Sunday will play our games... there will be so many active and then so many alternates.. you wont be active all the time unless you have problems with other guys on y our team not showing up, is this right?
Well ultimately it's up to the captain of each team as to who will be playing and in what rooms each week. That's the way it went in Links so Im assumingit'll be basically the same thing here. It is possible that you could play every week, again that's all up to the captain of each team. There will be sign up's each week to see who can play on what day. Then the captain will put people in rooms according to what they signed up for, this will be locked in each week on thursday nights at midnight. But if there are more sign ups then spots open some people will have to be left out and those people will probably be asked to be an alternate incase someone happens to miss their room for that week. That was a little longer then intended but I hope that helps
As usual it seems a lot of people are signing up without reading the League Rules & Penalties. At this point the plan is to 4 rooms on Thur, Fri, Sat & Sunday Nights at 10:00pm eastern. If the sign ups expand, we may add a 5th room. But yes, depending on the draft we anticipate each to have alternates to fill in for those unexpected fill in's. :wink: PLEASE, EVERYONE READ THE RULES AGAIN !!! Thank You !:wink:
