Started off the season getting swept right out of the gate and lost 2 out of 3 in the next series but have only lost once since.. Record 22-6 now..

Carlos Lee is on a 23 game hit streak and Lance Berkman is almost at .500 and batting.. The first maybe 15 games i was on pro setting but started to light it up more often so i switched to all-star but it hasnt stop my streak.. Great game last night in the series finale against the Reds. Phillips of the reds hits a 3 run home run to put them up 10-7. I shuffled my lineup and batted the pitcher in the 6th spot.. Lane gets on and i pitch hit (this is in the 8th inning) and Lamb puts one over the wall to bring the astros within 1. 10-9.. Everett, Tavares (who i traded for) and Ausmus go down without a fight.. In the 9th inning i get Biggio on... Lee hits a screamer to centerfield for a base hit.. Ensberg hits on in the gap and I score to tie it up.. With 3 guys on base.. Berkman and his league leading 23 HRs makes it 24 on a 0-2 pitch..

Probably being moving up to legend but ive been worried about trying it.. Seems like last year it took the hitting right out of the game.. a hit in the gap would only result in a single.. Hope it isnt the same.. .

ANyways anybody else marching through summer yet.. ?

I'm too scared to play offline right now. Its hard enough to hit pitchers like Beckett when my timing is on, let alone if my timing was off from playing offline. I'll probably be playing a franchise after season 1. Depends on how I finish I guess.

Good luck anyone who plays Yort and has to face Beckett, dude is sick, and Yort uses him well. He's just nasty.

I bought the game a week ago and haven't played online yet. I did start a franchise tonight. In the 1st game I had 4 HR's brought back by my opponent. Is this common with this year's game?

Yeah, its way too common. If you tweak all the AI sliders though you can probably get a solid game of baseball. Over at Operationsports, they have a few threads on sliders (based for offline play). I'd suggest giving those a shot, and seeing how they do, and then tweak from there.

Yea, I had to face Beckett, he struck me out 18 or 19 times  He mixes speed very well.

Yeah, Yort uses him well, and his pitch speed variation is insane, you pretty much have to decide "Okay, am I going to sit on offspeed, or go after fastballs" because its incredibly hard to hit both.

I played a quick season and when undefeated and won the Cy Young, MVP, and World Series the other night. I can't wait to tweak the settings and play a full length season. That's going to be a lot of fun. I might even do it to where I follow the schedule like real life and play the games on the days It says to and stuff. Should be a blast.

havent even started a franchise yet, waiting the next update from dkrause. i have been tweaking non-stop with the sliders etc. but have found a solid set IMO..

as for stating those sliders are only for offline play.. thats wrong.. have you tried them online? i have, they play just the same. the sliders have the same effect online or off..

I don't know, they should be the same online or off, but the ones posted over at OS they have the power and stuff higher than I do in the prosp league, and we're still hammering the ball.

I hate to take the powerswing to zero just because I like the choice of hitting for power or for contact, especially with guys like Loduca, I hit for power if I want to try and hit a double, but if we're still jacking balls with it set on 5, I guess it needs to go to zero. I just hate we have to dumb it down to almost classic swing to try and get good settings.

Can you post a thread with your offline sliders? I'm about to start a franchise, and I'd like see what you're using so I can get a good starting point.

My franchise with the Reds isn't going great. I just started one, got swept by the Cubs, took 4 out of the next 6 and then got to face the lovely cubs again. I LOST THE FIRST GAME 24-14! I hate these damn Cubs, they hit everything for HR's! I gave up 14 HR's! This is ridiculous!

Yeah, if you don't change the sliders, even offline, its going to be stupid. Its like they don't even playtest their games at all

I finally gave up on 2K7. I just dont like it. The batting interface makes it extremely hard to judge pitches, when compared to The Show. The fielders are giant sized, and the feild seems mini. The animations are blahh....oh well. Back to MLB 07 for the PSP - and soon for the PS3.

I've finally gotten my franchise going.

I used some sliders very similar to the current league settings and its been pretty great so far, with almost all my games being very close competitive games. After I play a few more teams, I'll think harder about changing some sliders, because so far I am 9-0, with a fairly easy sweep over the cards, and then a very tough series against the Braves and a couple come from behind victories, and then a very competitive series vs Philly in which I won every game but by a close margin. So I'm not sure yet, but I might play with the settings for AI Hitting just a little to smooth it out a bit.

But so far its fun as hell.
My hitting stats seem pretty realistic so far. My best guy is Alou who is on a tear to start the year, batting nearly .500 with I think 6 HR's and about 15 RBI's give or take. Most of the team is hitting high .200's or low to mid .300's with Delgado and Beltran being the worst of the bunch, surprisingly, Delgado is batting a Paulty .214 but does have 4 HR's and 10 RBI's I think. Beltran is hitting somewhere between .250 and .275 with I think 2 HR's.

I also pulled off a couple trades, I just can't hit with Valentin, so I pulled a deal and Sent I think Chavez and Heilman or something, I can't remember what the deal was exactly but brought in Giles from San Diego to play 2B, and he hit a homerun in his first at bat. Also picked up Estrada and Graffanino from the Brewers. Kinda suprised they offered that deal, but Estrada ALWAYS gets hits for me when I'm the Brewers, so I jumped right on that one, only problem is he is on the DL for a few weeks before I can use him.

Also last night my scout found our first prospect. Can't wait to see how he turns out, first one is always exciting. Hope he doesn't turn out to be a dud, that'd be dissapointing.

Anyway, having a blast so far, maybe I'll tweak a couple things on the AI's side to improve their hitting just a bit more but other than that, its fun as hell!
