Gears of War

What the hell are you people smoking it was a fantastic MP game (cheaters in all games are unavoidable) and single player was solid not Halo 1 but solid.

 

No public custom games. No co-op online. Repetition in matchmaking.

Those three factors was what turned me off.

But I blame the 2-month free trial cards than Bungie. Every asshole in the nation signed up to fuck up what could've been the online experience of all online experiences.

I downloaded and watched the Nov. 2 On the Spot show from gamespot.com. The last 20 or so minutes was a co-op and single player demo of GOW. It was two of the editors from the show and website playing the game. WOW! This game is going to set itself apart from the rest of the Holiday releases.

 

Just checking the Sunday adds and Circuit City has a free faceplate with purchase of Gears of War (either version)

 

I don't know if anything has changed, but I thought I'd post this so people don't start getting ticked off come Tuesday, LOL.

Last I heard was that Emergence Day was November 12th. However, they were going to start gradually releasing the game starting November 7th with everyone having it by November 12th. It was recommended you start calling your local gamestore on November 7th to see if they had it yet.

Again, I don't know if this has changed because I haven't been keeping up with it. Honestly, if it hasn't changed, I think it's ridiculous. How frustrating will it be when you can't get the game yet you're seeing your whole friends list playing the game and posting about it? I guess it builds up hype, but I don't like the strategy if that's what they're still going with.

 

All Gamestops and EBgames will have it on the 7th/8th. As you said, the rest of the stores will get their copies in sometime between the 7th and 12th. All stores will have copies by the 12th to sell. As far as I know, this game has no official street date. This means if your store has the game, then they can legally sell it to you.

I just read where 1up.com gave GOW a 10! The reviewer was Dan Shu, the editor at EGM. He essentially said that he could find plenty of small reasons why not to give the game a 10 but he just kept thinking about how much enjoyment he continually got playing the game.

 

Wow, "crappiest game ever"? You got to be kidding me? I guess you let a few cheesers get to you. The game was quite fun IMO offline and online. Take away the jerks that scream online and it was a good time for me, I'm definitely getting the 3rd one. As far as GOW, I can't wait to get it and COD3. Both will have to wait for the weekend though.

i wasnt a huge fan of halo 2.. the OG Halo was awesome but for some reason i couldnt get into Halo 2.. but to be fair i'm not a huge fan of shooters.. i will get R6 Vegas b/c R6 was the first live game i owned and i loved it..

Well my bday is Sunday. I have been officially told by the wife that I am not permitted to buy anything until then. Sucks to be me.
