Over at IGN, they have released their ESPN NFL 2K5 review, giving it a well deserved 9.4 in their opinion. You can read it by: CLICKING HERE Some big problems I read in the review: I don't know about you guys, but I am not putting up with frame rate stutters whenever it goes to show stats, and that problem with the defenders...gay, that means it can totally blow a play and make it into a big yardage situation. Overall the game sounds like a very good buy, especially for the $19.99!
what you're not taking into account socal is that the game choice for LG will be based on online game play...not v. the CPU. I don't think the frame rate stutter will be that bad either...these look like the smallest of annoyances, and should be very minor in the end.
I know that, but the computer controlled defense online might take some bad angles also. As for the framerate problem, it had better not be that bad, as I will not put up with it.
I wonder if this will be a feature similar to the one we see in EA NCAA? If so, there should be a way to pull stats and implement them here?
Who cares if the AI takes bad angles to make tackles? The AI shouldnt be the one trying to make the tackles anyways... Unless we are talking about single player and it that case who cares as I'll be playing exclusively online.
The AI taking bad angles is nothing new. As mentioned before no one should be letting the AI guy make the tackle anyway. Duh. You have to play defense instead of defense just magically happening unlike some games.
If you are insisting Madden, then you are way wrong. Madden involves a lot defensively if you want to win. It also requires quite a lot of offensive skill unlike many of you make it out to be. As for the defenders taking bad angles, it would help if you are taking an angle, and there is also an extra defender helping out by taking an angle. I did not mean as if I was just sitting back and planning on making the AI Defense do all the work.
Socal stop trying to "sell" us Madden, it's really getting annoying. We'll pick the best game when they come out.
What is your issue man? Are you the fucking Madden police and how the fuck am I wrong? I wasn't referring to Madden but to NCAA. Last year was the first year I didn't play Madden all season. I prefer ESPN now over Madden and even NCAA. NCAA is a totally different game than last year's. NCAA in my mind always had the loose defense just as in real life as opposed to the NFL. This year for some reason the D is unreal IMO.
Indigo, I am not trying to "sell" you guys Madden, I am just proving some points, and some people just absolutely hate Madden and are anti-Madden. As for Darthor, yes I am the Madden police, want to see my badge . As for the part about you speaking of NCAA, it is just that when talking about Madden and ESPN in a thread, when somebody says that, you automatically assume they are talking about a game being discussed. I don't disagree with yo on NCAA though, it does have it's problems.
BTW you took those 2 quotes from the review out of context. Clearly the reviewer sees the problems but is in no way affects the game as MAJOR annoyances that happens every single down. BTW if you havent noticed no game released on consoles ever has perfect collision or perfect framerate(one good example is Madden and about every other freaking videogame with 3D graphics). All you have to do now is kiss VC, because gamers are getting closer and closer to videogame football Nirvana(get it Nirvana...like the band...ugh!). LOL 2 DAYS 23 HRS LEFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Once-a-fucking-gain, I am not hating, and never have been hating this game. I have always enjoyed the NFL 2K series, just I have enjoyed Madden that 1 little step more. Afterall, I do have every single game from the NFL 2K series in my collection, so I am not a hater, I am a player!
Now that both games are out, and I am not trying to flame on either game, I am just going to say this: I am very surprised at a couple of the people that switched games after release. That inclues The Original MP, PhilipRivers17, and nosice. I just thought for sure they were staying with ESPN the way they talked before Madden was out, and I was very shocked once they made their apologetic posts.
