There are certain events in the course of history that can burn through the fracture in time and have an unequivocally everlasting effect on the fabric of our society and culture. Some events can be so profound that they influence the perceptual minds and discourse of human action, forever imprinted in history books and tales passed down from generations. On January 7th, the Wisconsin Badgers play the Michigan Wolverines in what some are calling one of the most highly anticipated sporting events of the 21st century. In a world that is seemingly more divided than ever, sports can transcend all barriers and conflicts, bringing people together. On Sunday night, we may see the world start to become a better place.

The Wisconsin Badgers have been one of the more polarizing teams in the league. Although they come into the playoffs as the 12th seed, they have beaten 4 of the 5 top ranked teams including 8 teams that are currently in the playoffs. Yucky Mucks has quietly been one of the best centers in the league, leading his team in points while Ernie_Adams, reeno49, and carman73 offer them solid depth up front. The biggest strength of this team is their play on the back-end. Chitownmobstr, MikeK59, and Penguins23 have anchored them defensively. ItsBender14 has shown himself to be the heart and soul leader of this team. “He has really challenged and inspired us to be better,” says teammate CharlesBawsMTL. Besides giving his team inspirational fulfillment, he has also been one of the most efficient goalies in the league. While facing the 6th most shots than any other goalie, Bender has posted the 4th best save percentage.

Michigan had to overcome controversy early in the season but the management team of kaprizov-mn and kid-kanuck77 have this team moving in the right direction, winning 6 of their last 8 and finishing as the 3rd seed in the conference. Although inconsistent at times, this group has all the cornerstones of a championship team.Perhaps one of the most dangerous forward group in the in the league, they are loaded up front with Fate Rewinds, FAZE_T0XIC_18, murph l37l, Megamind92x, BoRuSS_QC, DrThunder164456, and Stealth2308 who finished the season as one of the best centers in the league. Michigan is stout defensively with Sebas33_Qc, Six1Twos_Finest, and Timmicide who continues to put together a resume as one of the league's top defenseman. PhantomLlamaTV and Bumdy3309 have shown the ability to take over games and have been solid for them all season. If this team can show a consistent level of play, then there may not be many teams able to stop them from hosting a trophy at the end of the season.

Michigan State struggled early par of the season but really came alive at the end of the season, outscoring teams they beat 32 to 15. Their top line of FerriBawss, TheeSonnyG5255, and DR CANADIANUS have scored a combined 30 goals across their last 6 games and looks to carry their success into the playoffs. MANBEARPIGCT83 and Container OP have been solid defensively and lead their team in Plus/Minus while Pro Orb7 and I Ghostd l both have potential to take over games when they are at their best.

Western Michigan has been one of the leagues premier teams and finished the season with the league's second highest scoring offense and Power Play and feature 4 of the leagues top 12 scorers in SixPackOfBL, The Thomahawk, NIT_THE_TRIT, and SCREEEEEN and have 9 players with over 20 points. They are also extremely efficient defensively with their d-core of SKILLEDPYTHON, Modemizer, and KJ l91l are also among the league best in points and takeaways. Management have built a smart and efficient group that rarely take penalties and utilizes quick and effective puck movement and are perhaps one of the most talented rosters in the league.

OMAHA MAVERICKS vs MINNESOTA STATE​

Omaha started the season as one of the hottest teams in the league going 9-1 but has since cooled down, dropping 5 of their last 7. Despite this, they still remain top in the league in major team categories including shot & goal differential, time on attack while having the best power play in the league. Sparky I91I has consitently been one of the league's premier forwards while II Tribunal II continues to make his case as one of the best two way forwards in the game. Their top defensive pairing of Rashcolton45 and Traxxonwaxx have been miserable for teams to face, pushing their line to 6-2 while Mango4581 has been statistically been one of the best goalies in the league

Minnesota State has been one of the league's most well rounded teams. They have allowed the 4th fewest points in the league while scoring the 5th most. They have the highest shot differential in the league while their Power Play and Penalty Kill have been among the league's best. They have a dangerous group of forwards in IAmTheNizz, xSpritsy, Buguzy, and xJmurdaa. A late season acquisition of KarismaMentality proved to be a smart move by management, as he went on to score 15 points in final 3 games. Minnesota lost many of their defensive stars early in the season due to callups but still have studs in YourBoyBuck, LonelyPhans. Sevinski and hhamilton114 are perhaps one of the best goalie tandems in the league with hhamilton114 posting a sensational 1.97 GAA and a .897 save percentage. If Minnesota State can show solid depth outside of their top lines, then this may be dangerous team to have to play.
