Calder Cup Finals Literal Predictions

I did this last season for the NHL so I figured on my lunch break I'd take a stab at my LITERAL predictions for the Calder Cup Finals.

Hershey Bears v Stockton Heat

We have an interesting matchup in the Bears and the Heat. Obviously with the series going through the first week of May, the weather will certainly be a factor. Despite the games being played indoors in climate control, the real challenge will be how the Bears manage their everyday life especially on the road.

California in May can be very hot, especially for a Bear.. you know, with all of their fur and stuff. The key for the Bears is to stay in air conditioned environments as often as possible even if that means leaving their cubs home in the woods alone. Now when the Bears are on their home turf in Pennsylvania, they can certainly hope for a more Bear-friendly climate. This is where the challenge for the Heat comes in.

On average, Hershey, PA gets significantly more rain in the month of May than Stockton, CA. The last thing the Heat need is rain in Hershey. As an expert when it comes to this, I recommend that the Heat bring a lot of umbrellas and find any sort of underground ways of transportation to get to the arena in the case of rain. The last thing Stockton needs is their Heat to be ruined by rain.

Lastly, let's talk about the actual on ice game. Now obviously, thanks to the Heat's specialized uniforms, they won't flame out due to the ice and that's the advantage they have. They need to be as physical as possible to hopefully have their flame light as many of the Bears fur on fire to keep them weak and short-numbered. Now I have heard rumors, and as a hockey fan I hope they're true, that the Bears have ordered fireproof uniforms for this series alone. I can't confirm this, but if the uniforms make it in time for puck drop for game 1, that will be a great sign.

PREDICTION: I believe that this will go 7 games. While the strengths of each team give them advantages, the weaknesses balance it all out. Though in game 7, I give the nod to the Heat . I think the Bears having to deal with the hot weather when they are on the road will prove too much for them come Game 7 and they will just have no energy left to win.

I highly suggest you guys investing in plenty of air conditioning units. Stay hydrated as often as possible.

No disrespect to the bears but This series is gonna be quick. Stockton has an Elite top line and all around depth that no others in the league can match. I will be shocked if it goes 6. Prove me wrong
