We have 56 Americans and 39 Canadians. Asterisk's are placed next to those that have volunteered management. I'm leaning towards the following format:

    Team USA A : 1 Owner & 1 GM
    Team USA B : 1 Owner & 1 GM
    Team Canada A : 1 Owner & 1 GM
    Team Canada B : 1 Owner & 1 GM

Each team will then be able to appoint a 'captain' after the draft.

Team USA A & Team Canada A will select their teams from their respective list. Team structure will be 18 players (9 F, 6 D, & 3 G), and then I'm thinking some type of reserve for Team A. Team B for each country then will select their team from remaining players, or perhaps Team B is simply remaining players?

**Should reserves for Team A be eligible for Team B? On the one hand, would someone want to be a reserve only and play one or two games when they could play full time on Team B - on the other hand, Team A needs one of its reserves but the player they want is scheduled for Team B**

I'm still leaning towards no position lock.

This is not set in stone and is still in very early stages. I'm thinking 2 separate tourney's:

    Team USA A v Team Canada A
    Team USA B v Team Canada B

**When should play start? Offseason or during the season? Also, game times, if during the season, will have to alternate or something to accommodate everyone (i.e. Mon-Wed @ 11 and Sun-Tues-Thurs @ 8).

    Current Objectives:
Select Management - Those interested come to me with owner/GM
Solidify structure - Those interested in management, I'd really appreciate your input as you will be the ones running this

What time would games be if we did them during the LG season? I was under the impression that this tournament would take place during the offseason. It has no effect on myself but others may find it difficult to get to games if they are later at night

That's a good question. I was thinking games would be during season ending before playoffs. For a number of reasons, including giving those out of the playoffs something to play for still.

What does everyone else think? Would offseason be better?

We could do like 1 game a night for a couple weeks and start week 6 so we end by end of season and before playoffs.

I'm interested in getting feedback on this.

I'm not a fan of the alternating draft for this. Lets say I draft NYYankees88 and everyone knows he plays with Army0f0ne, who do you think the next pick is going to be?

That's just part of the strategy. Not to mention I'm not sure they are part if it, although I know it was an example.

Understand both USA GM's should work together somewhat so the winning team has the best chance to defeat Canada.

But since we have to play each other for a chance at Canada, strategy goes out the window. I really don't see this working out the way you want it to.

Why do we have to have two teams for each country? Its about fielding the best team to beat the other country, splitting the talent across two teams just weakens the teams and the tournament. It should be the best players against the best players, like the current CanAm setup.

Sounds dumb as hell. Have a USA Team A and then have a USA team B. Its simple don't snake draft a Team A and Team B

I like how you contribute nothing but this. EAD.

I never said what I proposed was perfect nor set in stone. I'm trying to get as many people in but still get competition high.

If everyone wants 1 team from each country, then that's what we will do.

What part didn't you understand. I said don't halfway make a top team. Pick the top team and then Pick a second team. Its simple don't snake draft a Team A and Team B. It's just my opinion man i never said it was perfect so theres no need for you to get completely defensive.

If everyone wants the current CanAm tourney, then that's what everyone can do.

I was doing something different, or trying to rather.

But again if everyone wants standard CanAm, that's fine.

To get the most people involved I was combining two styles.

Like Lg or any sport, you have top teams from each conference. Not the best east players vs best west, but top two teams that make it.

But then I was adding the USA / Canada spin to give it an extra dimension. Just to clarify. This is only in the second day and these were just ideas.

But standard CanAm is what this can be.

It's not that I want the CanAm, it's just that I want to build the best team possible if chosen for management and I can't do that if we have more than 1 team for each country.

Which I get - I totally understand what you mean. And to do that it's standard CanAm with 3 lines I guess.

If we want to include more people then we just do the idea where we have 2 teams but let team A select it's players then team B for each country selects from what's leftover. Which may be how current CanAm is, I'm not familiar with all the specifics.
