Get rid of the salary cap and everyone can play with whoever they want. Who cares? You don't think Bridgeport would have loved to have had their friend Howie back this season? You don't think Charlotte would have loved to have gotten Bruins back at under 4 million per season? Next season they should just change their tags and try to sneak through at a lower bid, right?

It's cheating, plain and simple, and delivers an unfair competitive advantage to teams that get away with it.

 

Well, it can't be cheating if there's no rule to break. Yes, it is unfair but nothing in life is fair.

How is it cheating? The gamertag change shows up in the news feed and says previous gamertags when you go to place a bid.

 

It's not cheating... people change their names in real life too.... look at Prince, Diddy & Bruce Jenner!!

Cheating? It would be very hard for the league to say "you can't change your gamer tag around bidding times" also, while they're at it, you shouldn't be allowed to sign up after NHL bidding for the sole purpose of going to the ahl. Oh wait, they don't have that rule because super studs will be given a 500k contract like Lan Moran do and still cost a team next to nothing. So while you may think it's cheating, it's actually better than getting a random assignment for 500k that can turn a teams season around simply by luck. Or should guys who sign up late that are good get a 2 season ban as well?

It's one thing if you change your tag and leave it as is. But when you change your tag, go through bidding, then change the tag back to the original one...that's fucking dirty. Regardless of the news feed...it's crooked and weak. If you're that fucking desperate for a virtual trophy, maybe it's time you re-prioritize your lives.

 

How did biddededed boards turn into cheating? Anyway, to each their own. If you feel the need to change your GT so you can backdoor bidding, that's cool I guess. Dorky but ok.
