Today as many know, Greg Maddux and the new look Chicago Cubs with Nomar Garciaparra at Shortstop, go up against the Philadelphia Phillies, at historic Wrigley. Well, Greg Maddux is on the verge of win #300, and will quite possibly be the last 300 game winner in quite a few years. So that brings to a question, do you think today is his lucky day? EDIT: I say yes, with some help, maybe some RBI's, possibly a homer from Nomar, Greg Maddux will get that big victory and move into the special club. I think he will retired with about 330-350 wins.
Well, Cubs are up 6-3 right now.....but Maddux came out when the Cubs were down 3-2. So no 300th win today. Nomar is 1-4 at the plate with 1 RBI.
Yeah, I was watching the game until Maddux came out, then I played a dynasty game of NCAA, and am now just watching both the Mariners @ Angels (0-0), and Dodgers @ Padres (0-0). Too bad for Maddux, but ohh well, he gets a chance to win it in California, otherwise it is back to Wrigley. As for Nomar, yeah I really thought he was going to have a big game, but I guess not. Through the first 3 innings, he was involved a lot defensively.
