Why position lock? why positions at all?

I've been playing Rocket League for months on the Mast PC Race (jk) and if there one thing I can tell you it's that there aren't any "positions" when you play. Good teams are constantly rotating. It's not that I don't like people calling other people "strikers" or whatever, but in a chaotic game like this, with a small map, wtf is the point is positions. When the ball is near your goal, your all playing defense. Good players play all 3 positions throughout a game. I just don't want people bickering about positions is all. Oh, and I made because i was bored. Playing rocket league right now is like playing with Christmas noobs.

If you are referring to the signup button, its not a lock its how you describe your playstyle.

 

oh, that's better. but eventually if there is a draft, people will be picked up as a specific position. Like, i'm pretty good at all positions, how do i pick one?

 

We can hope that People building the teams would have to be smart enough to know that good rl players rotate and cover all positions. Otherwise they wont do well

 

I figured it was play style as well. I selected defender because I usually find myself cherry picking more than others.
