    As many of you know by now, Vegas is going invade LG starting next season. There has been many debates in the forums about "How will we function with an odd number of teams?". After much debate, and several months of review and preparation, @Safety Sieve is the wizard himself whom has constructed our master piece of a schedule!

    For this schedule to work, we were required to add a 10th game time slot. Due to how popular the condensed week has been for our PSN League, we opted to go with a condense week, and an additional game for the Xbox Side. What I mean by condensed week is that rather than having games Sunday through to Thursday, we would have games Sunday through to Wednesday instead. This will allow for less weekly commitment getting players on and into, more free time between weeks for other LG events, more time for trading, and more time for staff to address league complaints and such.

    As an example, the new NHL game times would look like this;

    Sunday 9/10
    Monday 9/10/11
    Tuesday 9/10/11
    Wednesday 10/11

    Out of those ten official game times, team will ONLY play nine times! Meaning each week there will be one of those time slots where you will not play.

    To ensure each team plays a complete 82 game schedule as well, one week in the season will also be ten games. The only difference is that the 10 game week may not be the final week of the season which is something we are used to now.

    Here are a few examples of what the complete season looks like for the Toronto Maple Leafs, and the Pittsburgh Penguins:

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In those two examples you can see a few differences, and see how the new schedule looks. As an example, for the first three week the Leafs play two games Sunday, three games Monday, three games Tuesday, and one game Wednesday. Where PIT has Tuesday at 9 off week one, Wednesday at 11 off week two, and Wednesday at 11 of week three. That is where the variation in the schedule comes into play.
    I know the majority of people hate change me included. But based off the success the PSN League is having with a condensed week as well as our desire to simulate real life and the real NHL, Vegas is a must for us here on LG.
    All I ask for is to come into this with an open mind and believe that this is going to be better for us all!
    If you have questions or comments by all means post below and tag @Tris10 and I so we can address you ASAP!
    Happy 4th of July from us all here on LG
    I like getting rid of Thursday nights, but I hate the idea of having to stay up until 11pm into near midnight some nights to play a hockey game.
    8:30
    9:15
    10:00
    You're going to see a lot of players unable to make the 11pm game and not enough of this community is west coast to justify not starting sooner, instead of starting later.
    Understood, but the gripe remains the same. I'm not sure why the league caters to such a small portion of the community by having 11pm games at all. It's probably a lot easier for a west coast player to make a 5-6pm game time, than to have people stay up until midnight on a weeknight (school, work, ect). Realistically speaking what % would you say of the LG community is west coast? Is there a way the site can tell that? I'd guess 20% maybe less? The point I'm trying to make is that it should be a priority to meet the needs of the greater, rather than the few. It makes more sense to me to have 20% of the community potentially not make the early game, than to restrict 60+% of the community from making the late. You guys do great work here, glad to be apart of it just voicing my opinion.
    EDIT: I just realized that my point makes absolutely no sense since the games have to be staggered with the AHL game times for ECU purposes. I apologize.
    11pm games have worked fine for 5 seasons now... No point in changing things now.
    Now I understand what you with this new schedule. That was a lot of work you guys did by showing off all 31 teams schedule for the next 3 seasons, crazy. It's cool to have different teams play on different days and times than the others. I'm excited for the next season.
    But like @michchas said above, it'll be cool to know how the AHL is going to work out since you guys are bringing the Utah Grizzlies for Vegas as their AHL affiliate.
    11PM games are not ideal, but most people can make them. They just don't prefer to (I know I don't).
    Having games earlier, on the other hand, isn't feasible. It's not about desire to make the games, it's about logistics. Anyone with a full-time job will have a hard time making an 8-8:30 EST game from the central time zone to the west coast. Anyone with a family - like myself - can't make that time because of family obligations (family time, tubs, books, bed, etc). It's too early.
    Do I hate staying up for the 11PM game? Hell, I hate staying up for the 10PM game. But it's much more feasible for a larger audience of people then doing it earlier. If you can't make the 11PM game, then just sign up for the 9PM and 10PM games. This just makes it even more critical for teams to have competent owners/GMs who are able to plan availability for the week, and try to give folks in the 11PM games the 10PM game also so they aren't waiting up all night for one game.
    Good effort on this, guys.
    Here's another example, Because of the uneven teams the week a team plays 10 games has to rotate. So Vegas plays their 10 games a week in week 4
    I think if ahl games are at 1130 like it was shown in preseason its gonna be hard for managers to fill lines. What kinda tcs are gonna stay up till 1130 eastern on weeknights just incase they are needed then there not or what person with a 1st shift job wants to play at 1130 knowing games never start on time if the game starts at say 1140 and then someone disconnects you could still be playing at 1215 or 1230 on a work night I feel there will be alot more ffs I know I wont commit to any 1130 games and I work 2nd shift so thats an ideal time for me but I see it being a shit show trying to find ecus that late in weekdays although 830 isnt anymore ideal for west coast players I think 2 games thursday is alot better option then 1130 games but just my opinion
    Not 100% sure yet. I've been debating an AHL schedule with my Xbox guys.
    What might make sense is the ten AHL times to be;
    Sun/Mon 9:30-10:30
    Tues/Wed 9:30/10:30/11:30
    What do you think?
    I posted above @LG McDonald I just think 1130 will be very hard to get ecus that late I see alot of ffs coming but hopefully im wrong I can barely get ecus at 1030 now I mean the only way I see it working is if every team somehow manages to get a west coast line and an even amount of west coast tcs but idk the numbers as far as how many west coast players there are but as far as east coast working people games running past midnight wont work out well im assuming but hopefully im wrong
    Or have a game at 11:30 and a game at 8:30 so it hits both sides of the spectrum
    Yes that may work its a hit or miss because then 830 may be hard to get tcs if needed cuz of chl either way I see it being a headache for managers to start out but I think it will work out after some time
    Also consider the CHL is getting moved to. That means they get a 10:30 game..
    When you look at the big picture I am only changing TWO game times a week. Let's say for argument Those new times are Wednesday at 11:30 and Tuesday at 11:30.
    Therefore outta ten times, you play nine times. So that likely will mean you'll play 11:30 Tuesday OR 11:30 Wednesday.. which means 1/9 game times weekly is different.
    Not so bad now is it?
    No I still think though it may be rough but its hard to say maybe im wrong I just know in preseason alot of my guys had no interest in playing at 1130 at night we moved a couple games up just to play but maybe if it was regular season it would have been ok im not sure
    Maybe a counter proposal for the AHL: Games start at 8:45/9:45/10:45? Will make it harder for anyone needing to ECU someone for the NHL who's currently on playing an AHL game, but a good Owner/Mgmt team plans ahead I'm just seeing it from the angle that finishing a game at or past midnight is murder. I don't even stay up that late to watch the B's on the West Coast.
    I propose no game start past 11 PM Eastern time, with the exception of being within the rules for extra time, and only that. While you can claim 11 PM games are in the system and not an issue, you're now adding a 3rd 11 PM game. During my last experience, I had 5 of 17 players on my roster complain anytime they had 11, and outright not schedule themselves. So while @Ryan_x_28 can state it's worked for 5 years, it has been a struggle and can become more so now with an added game.
    This is what im thinking and it may be hard but maybe chl should be 8 9 and 10 or 9 10 and 11 same times as nhl on the hour then ahl 830 930 1030 because most chl guys aren't eligible to ecu in nhl anyways as prospects that way ahl is seperate from both will be easier to get ecus for ahl and ahl guys to play in nhl if needed because there is no overlap @LG McDonald
