There is no such thing as "top" goalie in this game. Goalies don't mean shit and pretty much all depends on how good the team is in front of them in this game. Goalies don't have the tools to stop every shot, so pretty much goalies on teams that take away those high scoring chances the most will be the top goalie.

I wanna see "top" goalies go to a team with really bad team defence put up elite numbers. Newsflash they wont, bc this game goalies don't have the tools to fully carry a game by themselves consistently. However there is such thing as a bad goalie tho..those that always bite and leave short side exposed. But put a average goalie on a team with elite team deference and he will put up "elite" numbers, and you can put the best goalie ever to play this game rn on a shit team with no clue how to play team defense and guaranteed he will get lit the fuck up. I mean good goalies can steal a game or two here n there but its still a waste of cap space when goalies get 3mill+ bids.

Not being salty bc of your list or whatever...just pointing the obvious which I'm pretty sure you already know if you played goalie enough.

Totally understandable. But I'm asking who's your favorite top goalie this season as in who's performing well. Not how good they are.

 

Ok then obv the goalie with the most wins and good-decent sv% if your going my stats. I thought you meant overall top goalie. How to be a top goalie: in this game...#1. make sure not to track puck carrier too fast so you don't get sniped cross grain from the blue line all the time #2. don't give up your short side. If you do those 2, you are a top goalie since rest is up to to the team in front of you. lol.

I really hope we get more tools in NHL 18, but doubt we will after watching the teaser trailer that was released today. Looks like its going to be even more shitty for goalies next year

 

Yea I didn't mean like top goalies. I meant like best sv% and most wins because that's considered a top goalie for a season because how well they played that current season. I guess you have it mixed up. But yea I totally understand what you mean though about the whole top goalie situation. Sorry about that.

I'm 5-0 so far this week! About to be 6-0 tonight. Had a few games that if I didn't make some amazing saves that a normal goalie wouldn't, we would have lost. Last night's 18 save 1 goal game was another example of this. I do agree though that any goalie with a crap defense will get lit the fuck up.
