Hello everyone, After consulting wtih Tris10 we have decided to start a Virtua Tennis 3 Doubles League here at League Gaming. The initial vision/intent is to pair up interested players with each other as doubles partners. The pairs will then compete in one of the Major Open tournaments (Wimbledon, US Open, Roland Garros, etc). If the initial tournament is successful, the intent is to hold multiple tournaments, one for each Major Open available in the game. Points will be earned based on final tournament standings, with an overall LG ATP champion crowned at the end of the season. Our initial intent is to randomize doubles partners for each tournament, to provide a varied playing experience for everyone involved, and give everyone fairly equal opportunities to work together to earn points. This will also be a good way to get to know your fellow gamers. This promises to be a very unique and entertaning league, with 4 guys competing simultaneously on the same tennis court. If you are interested, sign up here. The very first tournament is in development, stay tuned! -Pete LG VT3 Commissioner
Does VT support 2 players on the same box against two others on their own Xbox's? My wife is actually interested if she could be my doubles partner.
I don't foresee how that would be a problem if she has her own XBox Live tag and account, but I am not sure. I won't have time to look it up until tonight after work, if anyone knows the answer please let us know. -Pete
Hmm, actually she does not. I wanted to set her up with her own gold account, but she said she would never play enough to justify it. I'm assuming you can't take a guest on with you for this game?
With only 4 signed up thusfar, this is going to be a very quick tournament. Who wants to qualify directly to the finals? I'm not getting any responses over at the XBL VT3 forum, unless we can get more people interested and signed up this isn't going to happen. Unfortunately, Tennis just doesn't have the same audience as the major sports. We'll give this some more time before a decision is made. If you know anyone who has the game and think might be interested, please have them sign up here. -Pete
With 9 people signed up, we have enough to do a small tournament. I'll keep the signups open through the weekend as I work on putting together the tournament, which due to our numbers will start in the semi-final stage (unless we get 3 more people signed up). -Pete
