Welcome one and all to the War Room where we will break down and deep dive into the progress of development of the season for the 5th season of the LG AHL on PSN. ​

Who is HOT?

Forwards

Week 1

Week 1 of the AHL’s 5th season saw some very solid play from players. The top five all around players were @l_Razor_x_Edge_l, @PaulyChunks, @ItsGally, @Furdayzbuddy, and @TikleMySackic. All five of these players posted great numbers but you also must mention that they each had the best +/- rating for the first week. This to me is what truly sets them apart from others as it shows they played with their line mates and their defense to showcase a very solid performance. @TikleMySackic alone contributed 14 goals for his team in 3 games which is a 4.67 goals per game. Week 1 he was the hot hand to watch out for.

Week 2

Week 2 we saw no one from the previous week repeat in the top twenty which means either they just couldn’t get things going their way or they were just outright countered perfectly. The new top five players to make the biggest impact were @L33t-Ricx0r, @Scorvat , @Obey_the_Sandman , @Marner93, and @Pasta_in_my_nose. These five played some serious hockey all around. @L33t-Ricx0r was a machine at giving crisp passes when his line mates needed it the most to put the puck in the net.

Biggest improvements

The biggest improvement I have seen from the stats between week 1 and week 2 must be @Mathqc22. After posting a dismal performance in week 1 with only 1 goal, a +/- of -5, and zeros assists, he certainly turned his game around. Coming out of week 2 he posted 10 points in 3 games with 4 goals, 6 assists, amd a +/- of 6. That alone has been the biggest improvement between the two weeks.

Defense

Week 1

Now on the defensive side of things, if your +/- is shit you don’t deserve recognition. But man these top 5 for week 1 have some seriously stellar stats posted. Players @xx0-gam3r-7xx, @ceeg87, @TKDAwesome21, @Adamd777, and @daveydonuts522 you all rocked that blue line. With a +/- that never dipped below 11 these players provided just what their teams needed. Especially @xx0-gam3r-7xx, who posted the highest amount of points for a defenseman.


Week 2

Week 2 only saw 18 new top 20 players come out of the waterworks. @pittpensfan76 and @xcho9495 made returns in the top twenty. These two are ones to keep an eye on with two weeks of steady play. @pittpensfan76 improved slightly from his week 1 performance while @xcho9495 fell short of his production during week 1. Now the top 5 of week 2 did not hit the production as their week 1 counter parts but still posted impressive stats. @WillardMcNasty, @Cuban1616, @Mr-Ziggle-NUTZ, @pappy_pap_smear, and @Ryanb42285 all did a great job on D.


Biggest improvements

The biggest improvement that I found was from @Philthy813. During week 1, after leaving the week with a +/- of -4, he comes back and turns his game up a notch improving his +/- with a 7 for week 2. He had 2 more assists as well but played some solid defense to help his teammates out.


Goalies

Week 1

Goalies who are hot are mentally focused and come ready to fight and battle each night. The top 3 goalies from week 1 are @bNYCe83, @Vezina-_-, and @xMeLLo. @bNYCe83 gets the nod after posting a stellar 1st week with 3 shutouts and a beautiful 1.40 GAA and a solid .879 Sv%. @Vezina-_- went 4-0-0 in his week 1 letting in an average of 2 goals a game only during the 4 games but posted a great .871 Sv% to start the season. @xMeLLo Deserves a medal for his performance in week 1 with 3 games in net and an astounding .67 GAA and a .923 Sv% with 1 shutout. This guy was on fire or something.


Week 2

Week 2 saw repeat performances from @Vezina-_-, @Maximuss001, and @ItzA WaterMelon. @Maximuss001 Was a draft pick and a recipient of Michael Bossy Trophy awarded to players most likely to be drafted by an NHL team from the QMJHL. Columbus and Cleveland are a great place for him. The top 3 for week 2 are @Vezina-_-, @ItzA WaterMelon, and @xKLuTchDoLphiNx. All three of these players shined in net. @Vezina-_- posted another shutout and another perfect week in starts going 4-0-0 for the second straight week.


Biggest improvement

@xKLuTchDoLphiNx comes in with the biggest improvement between weeks 1 and 2. He came out of week 1 with a 5.34 GAA and a harsh .742 Sv%. Those are some of the lowest stats he has ever posted in his career in LG. But the following week, @xKLuTchDoLphiNx said fuck it and came back to be the wall he could be. Posting a shutout along with a 1.50 GAA and a .909 Sv% you can bet he has truly redeemed himself. That along is a difference of his GAA dropping by 3.84 GAA and his Sv% going up by 16.7%.

Even though it wasn't recognized for biggest improvements I'd like to thank the griffins for helping me with my transition between week 1 and week 2. Week 1 I finished 0-3-0 and had 5 points with a +/- of -12 and was ranked 441/513 on the report card ranking system. With the new additions of @Spray_and_pray_ and @Obey_the_Sandman to my line for week 2, I was able to flourish into a player that doesn't munch on day old stenchy socks between plays. We went 3-0-0 on the week and I posted 13 points with a +/- of +8 pushing me up to be ranked 12/513 on report card rankings. These two really do deserve credit for my transition and successes thus far as they have been stellar linemates that can make good plays with or without the puck. That is all.
