So, you didn't get bid on...now what?

It's Tuesday in AHL bidding, most teams have already filled over half of their roster, and there are only a handful of spots remaining. For those of you that found your way onto a team already, congrats! That's only half of the equation, because regardless of how you we're acquired, the real journey begins when you actually get the season started.

For players that have yet to catch a bid, there are a number of things you can do to increase your chances of getting bid on. Here are a few simple tips to help you.

1. Play scouting games. Under the NHL and AHL chatbox, there is a button called "LG Pick Up Games." In there, teams are running scouting games all the time.
2. If you can't find any scouting games, hang around the chatbox between 7 and 11pm EST. There's always teams asking for one or two guys to fill their club.
3. Be respectful in the chatbox and forums. How you carry yourself is a major piece of the puzzle when management make decisions.
4. If you don't get bid on, you'll end up being available for the CHL. This isn't damning evidence about your game, it's an opportunity to showcase yourself if you aren't "known" here. Take it the right way and work on your game.
   
5. Do what you say you are going to do. Show up on early/on time for games, learn how to help out with stats, provide extra value to your team.

Overall, be a good human being. Constantly begging in the chatbox, spamming management with messages, or being an absolute idiot in the chatbox or on the forums is a good way to get buried.

Trust me, if you put up stats and have a good attitude, you'll go a long way in LG. Players get noticed all the time, and for the most part, there are very few secrets in the league. Go lead the CHL in scoring. Be that guy that shows up and becomes a reliable ECU (emergency callup). Get your name out there in a positive fashion and you'll be rewarded.
