Self board tie ups...

    I don't understand why you are forced to board tie up in only two locations... If I pick up the puck anywhere on the boards and a guy is coming in for the hit, it's the only thing I can do to protect myself , especially if I'm outnumbered, it's a great way to hold the puck until you get support... Seems like a silly rule to me.

    I can understand it can be used as a tool to rag the puck, and it shouldn't be allowed to be spammed, or used if no opposing team member is near by ... But to only allow us to hold the boards behind the net in a specific situation is taking a tool away from players.

    i agree. if you allow people to twirl their sticks unrealistically to draw penalties, why shouldnt this be allowed. it wont ever pass, but i get what youre saying.

    it'd be a golden way to kill penalties since teams do try and pin it up against the boards in the o zone on pks

    It's only illegal cause a few years ago when you let go you would get a huge bubble/speed burst. not really a problem anymore
