Long story short is WBS lost their second AGM so they promoted an NHL calibre D who didn't sign up, even though the rules say otherwise. Staff is allowing it because they USED to allow it (PAST TENSE HERE, THE RULES GOT RE-WRITTEN THIS SEASON) and Brodie just "forgot" to add it when he re-wrote the rules.

You can't have all the other teams all season follow the rules laid out in the rule book, then let WBS do whatever they want because they went outside the rules and just so happened to find the ONE rule Brodie will allow regardless of what is ACTUALLY written in the rule book. It's not hard to enforce the written rules over ones nobody knew existed because they AREN'T WRITTEN IN THE RULES WE HAVE TO FOLLOW.

If you guys let this stand, you have to let every team without a second AGM, or every team who lost a GM and replaced them with someone actually on their roster within the last 4 weeks to go back and redo that choice with this information.

Brodie says this was another hard ruling; it isn't. Nobody even knew this rule existed, there's literally zero need to enforce it; even with the BS reason about it being past the trade deadline so it's too late.

I speak directly to you, @LG McDonald and I will do so in public. This is outrageous. This season has already been a shit show full of people quitting, a shitty game, and the FalconeFlame shit. You did not need to add more fuel to this fire by quoting and following a rule that you wrote out of the rule book and nobody knew existed simply because you "forgot" to write it in. Do you somehow not see how sketchy that is? It's straight forward here, black and white, follow the rules that we have written. Don't reward a team because they ignored the rules ALL the other teams have followed all season long, that's just straight up stupidity.

Smarten up. The vote for the other thread was 60-3 for a reason. If we can all see this is clearly not fair to not only those who had a member of management quit this season, but the whole AHL; why can't you?

Look, normally i would be one of the first ones to try and ruin crass's day. The problem here is past precedence. It is the same in the real world with the law, contracts, etc. So i can understand why they let them pick a guy who wasnt signed up. I actually agree th with the league in letting them add anyone not on a roster

The problem i do have with all of this is GMs were told that they could not have 2 NHL caliber skaters as agms. But not WBS gets 2 NHL caliber agms. If we could have that elaborated on i would be most appreciative

 

Ethics is what it ends up boiling down to. It seems to me that this was something that, although allowed, not really looked into. First hand and second hand experiences have shown me that there are things out there that are vague and although technically allowed, is ethically wrong and goes against what we were told. If OJ was able to get away with murder, if he does it again, would he be exonerated because he got away with it the first time? Stupid example, I know, I'm running on 4 hours sleep, but the point is that it's something that although legal, does not follow what we were told as management before the season started.

 

Being the GM right behind them ..Trully not happy with that ....Maybe only a game but Rules are Rules ..This is not IOHL or other s league ..This is LG ...Some team had their management quitting on them ..They were not allow to handpick their management so why Wilkes Barre can ? Specially when he didnt even sign up for this season...

It's a precedent... But one part of what @LG McDonald said really stood out to me. This has happened before, but for terrible teams. This has only ever been used in circumstances where the team was awful, management quit, and someone from outside the team needed someone to come in and take management to avoid forfeiting games. This situation is far from that type of circumstance and this is a completely bogus ruling.

Numerous teams have had management quit this season and they all filled that position based on the rules... A team like Providence or Hershey who had management quit would never in a million years be able to assign some NHL ringer to become management for them. Period.

Is this really apart of that precedent? The answer is NO.

 

Exactly ..Oh your AGM quit ???? Ill give you that guy for free ..Why not giving that guy to a team who are really in need ??? Like teams who the management left them and want to plays no matter what and teams who designed there own GM with there own player like the rules saying ...Maybe its a video game like some saying but management putting work to their team and seeing that BS pissed a lot of GM ..They didnt get free player like that...Only players team got its Random Assignement that's all...Anyway its done right -_-

We tried to do this when tino quit last season and we're told we weren't allowed, I'm also curious why it's allowed now @TendyProbs @Bake703 @Tiddus @LG McDonald @Winston Payne @swiss97 any reason to that

 

If it's a rule in the constitution then it's shouldn't be allowed. If not then it should be allowed. Constitution should only be amended in off season. Taking advantage of a error is just smart management. Is it a grey area? Sure.
