Potential for dual NFL leagues (ESPN & Madden)

what happens if there is no ESPN league and just a Madden league. will the ESPN owner still be able to get a team?

 

We haven't reached that point yet, first we need to see which league we want and how many of them. If we do end up with just a Madden league by itself, I'd like to see current NFL members given a first shot at ownership in the Madden league. However, bashing the game and being a completely ESPN fanboy isn't going to get them a ticket over someone that actually enjoys Madden, who won't complain or compare it to their beloved ESPN all season. I mean, there's no real reason to give someone a team that doesn't like the gameplay in Madden (and it's puzzling that someone like that would signup for a Madden league just to be in the NFL league here, but I can foresee that happening, hopefully it won't and we'll have 32 owners that really enjoy the game and not always looking to see if the grass is greener in ESPN).

 

You cant even compare ESPN and MADDEN in the 1st place. I've been a long time Sega/ESPN football guy but now that Madden is available for online play on the xbox I SEE THE LIGHT!

Don't you think this should have been publicized a bit more? As someone mentioned above their are people that prefer ESPN that aren't currently in the league now.

 

I think XboxJon was trying to get a count on people that are still interested in an ESPN league. However, that kind of got buried as well, so maybe a new thread guaging interest in an ESPN league should be made

stljohnson had posted a poll, but I sent him an IM saying that we should probably wait on doing any polls until at least this weekend, when more people have had a chance to play both games and will have a better feel for Madden (and if they would want to do a full season with it).

No, Madden hasn't been officially annointed the game of choice, but it's certainly getting alot of informal support around here (whereas there seem to be just a small (less than a dozen) of ESPN diehards).

We can get some polls going this weekend from existing/former ESPN league members, and anyone else that might want to join a football league to see which game is preferred.

I'm definitely interested in joining a Madden league as I've played and own both games currently. IMO Madden is more fun to play online and I would prefer a Madden league.

Obviously it was a mistake to bash madden before it came out. I'm willing to accept that one. MP has got me going on this years version so iplayed it today at EB and was very impressed. Its not like the other maddens.

While i love ESPN to death, i'm picking up madden thursday and if it switches to madden i'll want in that league.

Personally, i think the members of the current NFL league should have first choice on whether they want in or not. Theres gonna be a lot of teams available because of the peopel who diddn't keep up with their games so its not like no one will get in.

and besides, i want the chargers. lol
