Move Wednesday games earlier too! as a mountain time guy I'd rather be done earlier anyways, and most East coast guys don't want to play the 11 PM EST game anyways.

Playoffs should be a 2 - 2 - 2 - 1 format to begin with anyway in my opinion. That give back to back home games for games 1-4, then 5-6 on same day. Most series would be over by Tuesday

    Playoffs should be like this:
    Sunday: Game 1 and 2
    Monday: Game 3 and 4
    Tuesday: Game 5
    Wednesday: Game 6 and 7

I think game 5 and 6 shouldnt be on the same day cause the lower seed team can't really use his home advantage from game 6.

Given that Tuesday is an off day for VGHL, it makes perfect sense to kill the Thursday game and add it to Tuesdays. In theory the low availability multi leaguers can fulfill their game requirement in one night.
Also it fucking sucks getting on for just one game. Kill Thursday until we can add a second game to it imo

Game 6 theres no home ice advantage since theres only 1 line remaining on each team that is eligible to play, game 7 should be the one on a seperate day

2-2-1-1-1 is better because five and six change home away. Therefore the home team of game five would pair their lines for game six first kind of ruining home ice advantage

It doesn't truly work either based on player availability. Teams don't want to use ECUs during the playoffs and see a their hard work from a season go down the drain because a guy was working late

Game 6 lines are irrelevant right now in this format because only 6 guys remain to be played after game 5 to meet your criteria of 2 games by game 6. Essentially, keeping 5/6 together gives the lower seed more of an advantage than having them separate, as you do not know who is in game 5/6 until pretty much right at the deadline a few hours before the game.

Having said that, you could change the playoff format to look a little more like this:
    • All players must be scheduled/play in 1 game by game 4
    • All players must be scheduled/play in 2 games by game 7

This drastically changes the current playoff format, and would provide an interesting scenario for the home/away team. If they are up 3-2 in a series after game 5 with only their "3rd line" left, they currently have no option but to play those guys. It essentially guarantees a game 7 at this point. By changing the format to the above mentioned, the home/away team heading into game 6 may decide it is more beneficial to put their game 7 line up out in game 6 to try and close out the series. It would be a dilemma for sure as managers would need to weigh the consequences of losing game 6 with your "best" line as you now have to play your "3rd line" in game 7 to meet the 2 games by game 7 requirement. Only then would game 6 "home ice" advantage mean anything. You still have the same playing requirements, but it opens up more players for availability, and creates a new dynamic of strategic planning to win a series.

    That is interesting.

Doesn't really allow us to go 2-2-2-1 tho..

It doesn't, but it at least gives you a home ice advantage as the away team if the game is placed on a different day

I dont think it should be switched. I'd rather the games be going to game 7 where each team's 1st lines will play against each other. I don't see a problem that game 6 lines are basically known. Should give teams more of an incentive to win and try and clinch home ice advantage.

    I agree.

Higher seed has gone ice for game 1-2-5

Where away team has 3-4 and six is known.

2-2-2-1 format would be the best if we want to play the series during a 4 days span
