W-L record is probably the ultimate stat in the long run. It means way more than in real hockey obviously because you're 1/6 players on the ice for the entire game. Whereas in real hockey you are 1/18-20. Great players have great career win records in LG.

I don’t completely disagree, but I think that applies to forwards way more than D. Only so much D can do if the forwards aren’t doing their job

 

No it’s not even close to the “ultimate stat”. I honestly feel bad for anyone who thinks it is. So there are no good players being dragged down by bad players in this league?

 

Thats actualy the complete opposite. I have a good exemple for you. Some fwd had great defense last season so with only 60 pts he was able the reach 19 win in like 24 games. If you can only score 2 goals a game but your d us great you have no worries to have. If your d is bad and your breakout is trash, youre not going to score and youll most likely be stuck in your own zone most of the game.

Nope, I wouldn’t talk shit about my own team because I’m not gonna blame everyone but myself. He’s a horrible goalie on a horrible team simple as that.

 

Reapers a solid goalie, but can be streaky at times. More importantly though you can't compare goalies to other positions in this game. There are few goalies in NHL 18 who can steal games.

 

Lol you can’t just pick and choose when your “rules” apply. The goalie is only as good as the guys in front of him or her though.

 

That answer isnt even to you yet you talk about not losing time? . Besides if you really think fwds are the one making the biggest differemce on the ice i guess well just agree to disagree. No breakout means no matter how good you are you wont receive the puck unless you go end to end. I once had this kind of d i made 70 pts s4 i had great d and i made 100 pts so....

Yeah it was early in the morning and I thought it was to me lol. A good forward can go get the puck themselves, pass it up to another forward and then go catch up. I’m not saying D aren’t important by any means, but it’s a lot easier for a forward to impact the outcome of the game in a positive way. I would say it’s easier for a D to impact the outcome of the game in a negative way though. Regardless though everything is a lot easier with 4 other solid players lol
