Mid Season Updates and News

Got some info I'd like to pass on prior to week five starting this Sunday. First and for most, I hope everyone enjoys the long week for Easter, hopefully it will be a fun and safe time for each and every one of you.

Trade Deadline? Trade Request Deadline(NHL-AHL)

The start of week seven is the official trade deadline. Weeks are Sunday-Thursday, therefore that makes the deadline for trades in the NHL and AHL April 10th, at 5 PM est.

That being said, we also always have a deadline for official trade requests set to be one week prior to the official deadline. Therefore all players whom wish to submit a formal request via the Action Center MUST do so no later than 5 PM EST April 3rd.

I have a few questions I'd like to put out to the entire community. I am exploring a few options that I need insight on proir to making any determination. Therefore You votes and input would be appreciated.

Some discussion among the NHL owners has been had in regards to trade requests. I am interested to see from the player's experience what the majority think? Do trade requests truly have a place here in the world of internet hockey, or are they simply too much of an exploit causing more harm than good?

Another hot topic that both the Owners and AHL Managers have mentioned is in regards to sign up deadlines. By now most of us understanding that by signing up late, you can dictate which bidding session you are eligible for. Some managers feel this waters down the playing field and want a change to be implemented to ensure that everyone MUST be signed up for NHL bidding to be eligible for ANY OTHER session.
