I have not had any lopsided games yet on pro or all-star. I still get some lag and go to swing but it doesnt. Hopefully we go to the classic one button method for hitting. Other than that the game seems pretty good.

I agree about playing on all-star as it is much much much better than pro. However, 2 button hitting is the biggest pile of arcadey crap ever and shouldnt even be an option. When going up to bat you dont say to your self... "hey i think i'll try hitting a HR on this pitch"....it's just not how it works. When a ball is coming 95+ at you, you just try to hit the damn thing.

I didn't say it was lag but rather a problem with not swinging when the button is pushed. It might be because I push the button too late but I doubt because I've had some pathetically late swings in the game. I've only expereinced lag twice and that was against Erbs and Mike. One was bad and the other was unplayable.

But sometimes you do go up to bat needing/wanting to hit it into the outfield for a sacrifice. For instance; guy on third, one out, #7 hitter at the plate. You might go power just to get a long fly-out in order to tag-up and score. Also, you get a 3-0 count and your number 3, 4 or 5 batter is up with no outs, you give yourself the "green light" to go for the big one. I personally don't think it's "arcadey", but I guess I can see what some of you are saying. I personally like the risk/reward of having two-buttons, adds an extra element to playing.

Yeah, there seems to be two decided camps on the 1 vs 2 button swing. The 2 button stuff does bring in a risk/reward aspect that 1 button doesn't give to you.

Maybe if we end up doing 2 leagues, we can do one league with each setting or something to accomidate everyone.

I would have to say that I like the 2 button better - as it gives you another element......especially when you really need a base hit, rather than a pop up. I like it. Nevertheless, I have experienced some lag in the game online. I consider myself a pretty decent player, but when the ball comes right down the middle and its a changeup and you still dont swing or swing too late...its horrible. I have missed many pitches becuase I press the button and a half a seconde later he swings. It is really annoying, and I hope this is just a temporary thing.
    Thanks!

I haven't seen any lag in the game. Honestly, I don't think it's the game's fault, and not something that they will "patch". Most people with good/dedicated broadband connections aren't having any issues with lag.

Given I've only played a few games online, but I've experienced quite a bit of lag. I did what you asked XBoxjon and my Download upload is 1183 / 213. Not sure if that's good or bad.

Yeah, no detail on the faces unless there's a close up/cut scene. Oh well, probably helps with the framerate alot and eye candy gets old quickly anyway.

yeah... I envy those without any lag or choppiness... I've had a few like that....

My speed is fine... the net code in this game sucks... it's too unstable. Although for a league I still would suggest this over ASB... based on all that I've heard about ASB, especially the stealing problems.

I know that MS/ESPN is trying to scramble something together to save this game... just check out the espnvideogames boards or the MS boards...

Alot of people are having problems with the lag/choppiness/disconnects with this game... it's not a speed issue.

OH... and yes sometimes players will go up to bat knowing that they want to really cream this ball... mostly in a sacrifice situation.... that's what the power swing is for.

You can hit the ball long with regular contact and even hit it out... that's used for most situations... but there are certain situations where as a player you would get ready to rip it.

    2-Button is more realistic

Haven't played baseball in quite a while... but I attend plenty of games... play softball etc...

There are times even in softball where you're just trying to make contact or get a basehit... and other times when you really want to try to crank it and at least get it to the outfield.

2-button gives you this option and more of a realistic chance for controlling the situation up at the plate.

1-button is just kind of arbitrary in my opinion.

There are players that do go up to the plate trying to crank it out of the park every time.

    -Mark Mcguire?
    -Jose Canseco
    -Cecil Fielder
    -Rob Deer
    -Adam Dunn

These players also strike out three times more than they hit homers and have low sub par batting averages.
