LGAHL Week 4 Outlook


​

Another Week into the books, and still we question what team will pull away from the pack? The AHL was a rollercoaster ride this week. In a week full of action and big performances, we saw many successes and failures for teams. This week the AHL had 15 of its 30 teams finish at or below .500 in their last 10 games. Can any of these teams make the small tweaks needed to bring these weeks back to better finishes?



On a more positive note while we see weak team performances, has any team really played their way out yet? Has any team really locked up their season so far? We see divisions really shaping up, and rivalries developing. After week 3 we have 7 teams within 5 points of each other, and 9 teams within 8 points from that #1 spot in the AHL.

• #2- Monsters (42Points)
• #3- Barracuda (41Points)
• #4- Wild (41Points)
• #5-Crunch (40Points)
• #6- Reign (39Points)
• #7- Senators (38Points)
• #8- Moose (37Points)
• #9- Bears (36Points)

It’s easy to say there is NO room for error for these teams, a few moves, a couple strong weeks, and the right outcomes, and these standings could really get shaken up!



We start week 4 with a little different outlook on things from prior weeks a slight bit! We don’t see any division strongly controlled by any one team anymore. The Eastern Atlantic is no longer death gripped by the bears, that division is Shaky with 3 teams behind them, that are a solid streak away from changing the positioning there! While the Eastern North still see’s the marlies sitting atop, they also find 3 solid and hot teams, that aren’t going away, right behind them! Onto the Western Central, while this division looks to be controlled by a few, it’s far from that. This division also faces the bitter fear of one bad week by any of these teams, and a strong week by another could really shake things up for this division, more so like any other division. These teams need to stay on hot streaks to hold positioning! Last but definitely not least, the Western Pacific. This division is a tough one, with 4 of its top 5 going 7-3 or better in their last 10, it’s anyone’s guess who could pull away from this group, we have a nail biter forming in this division.

Top Performances Of Week 3



This week for the Third straight week we have some new faces, atop this weeks top performances! We have some wingers that put up some solid numbers this week, with the help of their line mates! We also see a goalie, that had another thing to say about The Phantoms Forward Attack this week, with yet another great week!



#1 xxhazzy-Eyesxx (Utica Comets) - Coming in this week at #1 is none other then Hazzy, while noiseitmon couldn’t miss Hazzy on the dishes, hazzy hauled in one hell of a night! If he can keep performances like this up, he will bring these comets, right where they need to be! Congrats on making this week #1




#2 olPope (Texas Stars) - pope finished this week with a solid performance in the second game of Tuesday night! He was able to put the puck in the net at will, He left the SAP Center with 7 points (5G/2A/+7). Congrats to pope on this weeks #2 honors!




#3 VEZINA-_- (Binghamton Senators) - For the 3rd Week in a row we see a goalie making our top performances. While other Goalies finished with shutouts this week, Vezina faced more shots on goal. VEZINA left Phantoms home ice with the stellar performance, and yet another great week, continuing the Senators Good Fortune. Good work and congrats on making #3 this week!






Line Of The Week





This week sees all new players taking over the LOTW for the 3rd straight week! A Stockton Team came in this week and said we will be taking over this line. We have a goalie that was an absolute wall in a week where he seemed to have no defense in front of him, and some defenders that shutdown defences and put up points to sweeten their weeks!



LW- Ryanr9010 (Stockton Heat)



C- Rollerpig647 (Texas Stars) *Even though others have a strong week at Center, while rollerpig finished with 2 less points than other centers but a +14, double other centers this week Making him a stronger line mate in my eyes. (Texas Stars)


RW- Pasta_in_my_nose (Stockton Heat)



LD- Steel_City420 (Stockton Heat) *while another LD finished with the same or 1point more, Steel finished with a better +/-, and to me that shows there were less scoring chances allowed by the defense!


RD- Jmorris0009 (San Diego Gulls) *while we saw Jmorris finish with 1 less point than other dmen, he finished with a better +/-, so this week he will get the nod.



G- headhunter9872 (Bridgeports Sound Tigers)

*while headhunter, didn’t have a shutout like dreamtheater did, or better GAA, he faced over double the shots as the other contenders, and finished with practically the same S% and a 4-0-1 record.

The Team has given me no reason to believe otherwise mr. Sibbs. The boys and I have downed Syracuse, Toronto, Hershey, Cleveland, Manitoba, and charlotte in past two weeks. Binghamton for Calder.

 

I dont doubt it dude! First time you played for us in Tucson, we not only saw your talent but your constructive drive to see the team be successful. Not shocked at all that you are on a team like this! Congrats bud!!
