I wanna play with my friends. More scheduled games would be a pain but I'm down for whatever. I think something like the current lguhl format would be cool. Just search and match up with someone. Also I think 5 man rosters are ideal. Especially with everyone wanting to play with friends, there will always be people available.
This makes the most sense to me as far as how to structure the teams. 5 or 6 man roster size, and you post a game for a time and get matched up with other teams. For the game structure IMO the longest you can afford to do is a best of 3 using 5 minute games. I don't even think it's that much of an issue to do one 5 minute game. It would be one thing if this was an even playing field, but you're going to have guys with 20 hours playing guys who have 100s. I also think less of a time commitment will make people more active. As others have said, if you're playing a double header in LGHL you can schedule a game for 9:40 and be done in time to play at 10:00. That's a lot trickier if the game can take up to 30 minutes because it's BO3.
Games go by so fast that best of 3 is a good idea. However I understand that you might just want a quickie. I know if I put in a team, I would bring a few guys brand new to the site that have no interest in chel. Just bring in some irl buddies to get their dicks wet and get a taste of the biggies
Yeah I can see how a 5 minute game also isn't worth it to some people, but I don't think you can afford to go more than a BO3 without scaring people off.
i feel like league games should be a 3 game series at standard time rules. if you could extend to a 10 minute game to play standard time, that could be a possible route to go
I think matches should consist of a best of 5 (which) would be potentially a 25 minute match. I believe it would make the game more fun (not that it's not fun already, the game is like crack) doing a best of 5 for a single match up because playing the same team up to 5 times in a row you're going to actually need strategy and management.
Idk if this is a option but I think 4v4 games is way go in my opinion and terms of times I think it's better to do 1 games of 20 then 2 of ten or some kind of series
20 is way too long, and so is 10. Noone will want to sit through a long game if you are getting smoked. 4vs4 is chaotic and takes some of the skill out IMO, 3vs3 is the sweet spot.
I love chaos so that's why I like 4v4 but i can see y people dont like it and I agree with u gun 20 is to long but I think 10 should be max time
5-6 man rosters 3v3 Best of 3 5 minute games LGUHL format Make teams so you can play with your friends Write it up boys lets get this show on the road so I can get new people on the site
This but maybe 7 man rosters so you can have that spare guy if needed. This could also allow for a max games per user per week.
I lean more towards a 4v4 league, but I know most like 3v3 so it really doesn't matter. I'd say 2-game series "matchups" for the regular season, and a drafted league. Keep standings by points. 2 Points for a sweep, 1 for a split. Pretty simple. Once playoffs begin, I'd say best of 5 games per "matchup", and a best of 7 "matchups" per series.
You guys are making his so much more difficult than it needs to be. I've been playing this game for roughly a year and I can guarantee the best way to play is 3v3, best of 3 or 5 depending on how long you guys want matches to be (up to 15 minutes or 25 minutes). The only debate here should be if the first season should be draft or not. I would vote draft this way the good kids could teach the plebs how to play properly.
For the people saying 4v4 please don't give your two cents if you don't know anything about the game. 4v4 is a shit show and too hectic for competitive play.
I ain't teaching plebs. I had no one to teach me after all the others that played since 2008 or whenever that game came out.
That's your opinion. Playing 4v4, to me, is the best way to play because the game is super defensive. PLaying private lobbies with 4v4 and a lot of communication, has produced some very intense and low-scoring games. I love that. Stop being an arrogant douche and talking down to everyone who doesn't agree with you.
If we're going with one format, 3v3 is the only way to go. There's a reason why there is no ranked 4s (the game mode is literally called chaos). Unless we're setting up different ladders for different game size, 3s is a no brainer it's the only game mode where offense and defense are balanced according to how you want to play positionally.
