How I fixed my input delay...

Just thought I'd try to help out the rest of the community.

Even my newest of TV's gives me around 1-2 second input delay in gaming mode. I never thought it was the TV bc Rocket League & other games ran smoother & NHL is slightly clunky.

If you don't have a good gaming made TV id suggest buying a gaming monitor: here is the one i have, i had to buy speakers with it though.

Mike is completely right I have been saying the exact same thing since I switched over from a 49-50 inch tv to a monitor.

You can save yourself a ton of money when buying one of these . All you need is a monitor that has 1 ms and is atleast 60-75 hz . The PS4 and Xbox max out at 60 hz no matter what. The only time you need a 144hz or 120hz is for computer gaming. Make sure it's 1 MS for whatever monitor you buy. For this one on sale I paid 219$ original price is 259 Canadian. I will never go back to playing any type of video game on a TV again.

 

Yeah I have 144hz which is essentially allowing me to have an insane refresh rate when running games well over 60fps. Still nice bc i can play steam & then jump on chel. This was my first time using it for my ps4 and lets just say Ive spent the last 3 years playing with anywhere from 1-3 second input delay (went through an old TV)

I'm a moron but at least I can help others who feel lost in a similar situation.

 

TV's have bad delay because of post processing. Monitors are the way to go for gaming. You don't need a 1ms monitor per say, really anything 10ms and under will do the job.

I have to disagree your MS is the most important, that's your response time. The lower the better. Once you compare a 1ms to 10ms your eyes would notice a huge difference

That's right but if u only play nhl dont buy this that's a waste of money...

 

I go back and forth and I've never really noticed a difference. My 50 inch tv does have "game mode" tho so maybe that helps.

 

Who only plays NHL? Lol

 

Oh the puck pickups & animations are still horrendous. But it helps being able to compensate now that I have no major input delay.

 

Not entirely I still would say im on a scale between fewch-brothers and im on the fewch end

plus with the less delay, i find it WAY easier to play on a smaller screen (my monitor's 21") makes seeing lanes and such much easier imo.

The correct term is input lag. if you were legit competing with this community with a tv rated at 1-2 seconds of input lag. I envy you.
