Hello Everyone, With the launch of LGv5, we are in a position where we can offer more then just sports league, but leagues for any game including shooters, This is an area we want to really expand too. We already have awesome tools with LGv5 & ID@XBOX access including automatic game clip sync'ing, Automatic Stream connections and OCR. Now 343 is promising a public API https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/community/blog-posts/halo-api-support-coming-to-halo-5-guardians This would be something we could use instantly as we already have an API in use for our LG Golf Tour (LT), and something i could take full power of. Im serious about expanding to shooters, so my question to the community is who would be interested in some type of Halo league, and how would you like that league to be? Team League - With Roster/Captains (like LGHL)? Maybe Casual nights ? Game Modes - CTF, Slayer, Other ? How often a week would you play in an LG Halo League? The more feedback we get, the better we could shape and create a really cool experince here at LG!
I would be interested. I think we would need a team league but it would need to be a lot smaller than LG. We could sort of set it up like MLG does with a 4 man team and have a couple alternates as well. While also having individual brackets for people that don't want to play on a team or want to do something parallel to the team-based league. Skipping the Casual Nights question. I think a good mixture of all the different game modes would be best. That way we have a well-rounded league. Probably about 4 games a week per person would be a good number. Maybe more, but I would worry about having more considering most people that join initially would be people that are active in other leagues in LG. Rainbow Six would be a good choice as well. That game is pretty good going from the beta.
ive lost alot of interest in halo over the years even though i was pretty decent at it, it became boring. the thought of a league sounds intriguing and could bring my interests for the game back with a reason to play again and im sure the old halo clan could probably dust off the the webs for a season to see how it goes
Definitely interested. Team league with a captain/roster would be great. Have some Team Slayer/Objective based games. Maybe you could do it more of a ladder type so teams can play whenever they are on with a min and max of games required? Say you have to play 20 matches minimum within a 2 week frame and can't go over 30 or something? Then have a playoff of best of 3 or 5 series with slayer and objective throughout. I don't know, but it sounds like fun!
Agreed with Zeno here. Having a structure like other shooter places with a 4 player team and alternates. We could do weekly matches (like a round robin) or have a ladder structure. As far as scheduling that's where we could run into conflict with a lot of members already active in other leagues here and most existing game times being similar. We could start out by having the teams make their own matches when available and they have to be played similar to how LT is currently. With the OCR functionality we already have and the screenshots ability it would be easy to take this to almost any shooter including CoD and Battlefield.
Forgot to add that we will destroy you all in COD so if you make a league just give us the championship now.
Definately think Halo would be a good fit for the LG could do a 7 game series 3 or 4 times a week for however many weeks. Then, seed the teams and have a tournament pitting the teams against each other in a double round robin. If need more info on the competitive gametypes and maps just shoot me a message.
How can you claim that a game that isn't even out yet sucks? And if you say, "I played the beta" then you deserve the ridicule I will enviable give you.
