Goaltenders: EA Sports at it's Finest LOL

Thought I'd just sharing these for the hell of it.
We all know how EA works.. So here's a couple of prime examples lol

With the recent complaints/dislikes of how their goalies perform..possibly due to the tuner update change
(Arguably. Some goalies seem satisfied with it)

I personally found these 2 instances hilarious already knowing these things happen unfortunately.


Shot from the blue line, simple save.. simple cover? Hell no lol.
Had to attempt a Manual save due to eventual pressure.
(Which he eventually came and scored anyway lol)



After the first failed manual cover I decided not to use Y unless the puck is stuck or just sitting to the sides of the net.. Yea if only.
Can catch a flying puck but can't cover one on white ice and sitting still lol

The thing is EA had AT LEAST 2 years to fix THAT issue. However, there will always be garbage goals that will always be garbage and that won't ever change. Name of the game.

Being a tendy almost completely exclusively since NHL 15 I've let in the worst of the worst and the dumbest of dumb of goals. Best thing I taught myself was to let 'em go with ease and have a good laugh

 

I quickly learned to treat and respond to ALL EA bull**** as a cherishing, unique load of crap that gets dumped on the most important player on the ice. Personal Treasures for our hard dedication lol

In all seriousness though, speed being ungraded has helped but they have broken other things like usual. I know NHL is a scoring game but at least let goalies have a fighting chance. Some of the best goalies to play this game are either quitting or moving to forward because it is just plain unreasonable what they are doing to goalies.

Nevertheless, goal scoring sells games. That won't change.

 

The color thing is just random. I agree with you for the most part but the thing most people don't think about is the butterfly effect of that extra speed in the crease. At this moment I have seen more negative things happen than positive. EA stated limited things about the tuner set but I strongly believe that by changing that one specific thing set off other smaller things that in turn made it worse.

But I'm also a believer of willpower and perseverance. Gotta adjust your game accordingly and then you will begin to reap the rewards of that extra crease movement speed and more. It's still early to make drastic assumptions.

I just saw this as an opportunity to have some fun, get fellow tender's opinions and just hear from their own experiences or their hope for positive potential.

 

The thing that pisses me off is like that rebound goal I try and move over knowing the shot is coming but you're just stuck unless you do an x button save. And don't even get me started on shots from the blue line or beyond. It's like your guys goes full on special Olympics when the puck is near or in the neutral zone.

But did you have 2 Pro Series games end in losses from missed cover ups?

 

This the most trash year for goalie ever. Worst thing for me is the snipes i know they are coming but the goalie goes full tard and simply shrugs his shoulder at them and misses.

 

I actually really enjoy this year's goalie. The snipes are annoying and I'll get snipped with one here and there. You have to get your movements in the crease down tight. Takes time, patience, games played and skill but you have to get to where one flick of your stick and you know right where your goalie is going to end up (taking the angle and not moving or shuffling). Harder to do but once you've got that down then you can eliminate that weakness. Yea sure, you'll let one in here and there but not so many. Stick with the position to where whatever camera you use, you don't have to continuously look at your guy to make sure he's in the correct spot & depth for the angles. Certain aspects will eventually become easier and will allow you to focus on different things like handedness of the shooter, is the guy wrapping on his forehand or backhand, etc. Plus you'll improve your SV% when everyone keeps trying to snip it by you.

All in all, I am having my best statistical year with this goalie setup. But Goalie Covers are absolutely trash and watching the 2nd video made me laugh because That same sequence has happened to me haha.

 

The goalie covers are almost as bad as last years atleast this one you don't try and cover the puck while it's on the other teams stick as much
